The Fantastic Fourteen
(A.K.A. The "Unshushables")
The fantastic fourteen are the best kids around,
their love for Jesus is always shone.
Their respect for each other is always found,
even though they have an "unshushable" tone...
Conrad loves sports and to make people laugh,
and Jaden loves to draw.
Aidan enjoys running and doing his math,
and Cady's birds keep us in awe.
Emma loves science and animals of all sorts,
while Tori has a great fashion sense.
Jordan is so gifted at school and at sports,
and Bella loves to talk and laugh at an immense!
Faith is as kind and as caring as can be,
and Aurora's imagination is the best.
Ian's love of history will always impress me,
and Abby's smile is better than all the rest.
Anna loves her friends and shows them care and such,
and Cory is thoughtful, kind, and true.
Ms. Myers adores each of you so very much,
and will always and forever love you....
May God bless you this summer and always! Always remember how much Jesus and I love you..

Newsletter from May 15th
Hello, Parents! I thought I would give you an update below on some things happening this week.
As many of you know, the Joplin project this month was to raise $250.00 as a school, and the class that raised the most money gets lunch from Mickey D’s! Thanks to you and your child’s generosity toward our friends in Joplin, MO, our class won this month’s challenge! Yeah! So, when we go to Railroad Park tomorrow afternoon, you do not need to pack a sack lunch for your child, as it will already be provided. If you choose to send a soda (we are receiving Happy Meals with milk), or a dessert, you may of course do that. Thank you again for your generosity this year. As a school, we have raised almost $6,000.00. It is amazing, and we are so, so blessed!
Also, as a reminder, I wanted to let you know that the children will be having their Famous Missourian History Museum tomorrow from 10:15-11:15, before we leave for the park. We have practiced at school and we are ready! I just wanted to send a reminder to you too, that they may need to bring small props (or clothes to change into) from home if this is something that they are choosing to do.
If your child has earned his or her trip to Winstead’s and you have not returned the permission slip, please do so! We will leave school tomorrow at 3:40 an return sometime around 4:30. I have two drivers, plus myself, heading out there, and just one parent coming back to school with me. If you are able to help, please let me know! Thank you!
Book reports are also due this week. Several students have asked me if they can have another day, and they can… Thursday is the latest, though, as we need time to share them, and for them to get graded before grade cards come home on Friday!
If your child has a summer birthday and you would like to send in treats the next couple of days, you may… We celebrated Tori’s today!
Friday is our last day and we dismiss at 1:00. Wow!
This has been an amazing year, and I feel so blessed to have been part of your life and your child’s life. Today we all had so much fun. We are finishing up our TimOlympics, and we had so many laughs! We were just giggling at each other’s silly comments, funny songs, or goofy antics, and as it always does, it struck me how this time of year is so very, very bittersweet. I have grown so attached to each of these students, and I know that they feel the same way about each other. We are like a family! With the fourth graders, we have been together for two years, and with this group especially, because of Emma and her classmates, we have all shared a special bond as co-parents, as well. I will miss all of you and these kiddos SO much! I thank God daily, that my work is here, amongst such a loving, supportive environment with children that I consider my own, and parents that I consider friends. Thank you! Have an amazing, blessed summer!
Blessings,
Kim

Newsletter From May 4th!
Hello, Parents! Third and fourth graders are working hard to sum up the school year! In Science this week, we worked on our habitats. Boy, we have used our creativity! We will share these next week. They will be on display in the school hallway.
In Missouri History, we have begun reading about famous Missourians. Next week, your child will pick out one that intrigues him or her and begin a short research project about this person. We will do the writing and research at school.
In Religion this week, we talked about the stories of The Tax Collector and the Pharisee and the story of Jesus Healing the Blind Man. These lessons reminded us how we are often blind to the ways of the Lord, as the Pharisees were! We often think we are better than other people, when God sees us all as sinners and as His dear children, whom he loves. We discussed the phrase “Don’t judge a book by its cover…” quite a bit! What a great lesson!
In Math this week, the third graders began their unit on geometry! They have been learning about different types of lines, polygons, and triangles. They are having fun! I keep hearing, ”This is so easy!” Fourth graders have learned how to complete long division and check their work. This is a new concept, and some have been frustrated, but they are catching on! I am proud of them. Both classes have been taking their multiplication mad minutes to see if they have their facts memorized. Seven children have earned their field trip to Winstead’s so far! They still have another week left to pass. We will be doing this as an after school field trip. I will send a note home next week. As always, thank you for your support. They can do this!!!
Book Reports are due soon! Third graders have until May 16th to complete their biography book report. Fourth graders shared theirs this week and have begun completing their picture book book report. They are beginning to write their own too, for the project! Please ask your child periodically about their progress on this.
We will be having TimOlympics again this year! The students in grades 3rd-8th look forward to this every year! We form three teams divided among the grade levels and participate in fun games that challenge us intellectually, athletically, and creatively! It is so much fun! Each group designs a lip-sync for our final challenge. They will perform these at our closing chapel on the last day of school, May 18th. TimOlympics will be on May 10th, May 14th, and May 15th. Fun times!
MUSIC: The children will be practicing their recorders every Thursday during Music. Please remind them to bring it to school. We also sing on Mother’s Day in church at the North site. We will be singing at the 8:00 service and 9:15 services. Please meet in the Music Room at 8:00. Please wear Timothy gear.
During the last week of school, the children have the opportunity to participate in a classroom auctions, where they can spend Myers’ money they have learned. This auction usually consists of things/books we have made in the classroom this year, books, toys, knickknacks….If you have any items you would like to donate, please let me know! Thank you!
Timothy Lutheran Ministries celebrates its 50th Anniversary on Saturday, May5th. Come join the fun at the South Campus (school) from 10 am -5pm. Our infamous Timmy Burgers will be available for $5 each. The Youth are selling chips and soda. There will be a car wash (10am-noon), games and a variety of music performances throughout the day. Help us celebrate 50 years of blessings!
End of School Housekeeping: Please keep an eye on your lunch balance. Please reconcile your account. Return all library and/or classroom books. Also, make sure your child has all of his or her work handed in!
Please Remember: Our Mission Project this year is to raise money to help Martin Luther School in Joplin, MO. April and May’s challenge is to raise $250 as a school, and then the class that collects the most money, gets to have lunch from McDonald’s when we take our park trip on the 16th! What an incentive!
Yours in Christ,
Kim Myers
