Book Reports





BOOK REPORTS

Part of your child’s homework is to read a “just right” book on the assigned genre and complete a book report and a project each month. The book needs to be more than 100 pages and at his or her reading level.

They will be assessed on the content and mechanics of their report, the creativity of the project, and their overall presentation of the two. Details about each project will come home closer to the date due.


Fourth grade students will be expected to present these to the class on the last school day of each month. Each month has the type of book expected to be read, along with what type of project needs to be completed. They are as follows:

Design a new book jacket


October

Animal as the Main Character

Cheeseburger Book Report


November

Fantasy or Science Fiction

Make a Cartoon Strip


December/January

Historical Fiction

Design a costume and write an oral report as a main character in the story


February

Mystery or Detective Story

Movie Poster


March

Nonfiction

Story Windsock


April

Biography
