When I was little, I remember daydreaming about becoming a teacher and a mother. God answered both of those prayers in amazing ways! I know I am so very blessed, as God has given to me two beautiful daughters, two awesome step-children, and I am able to teach the Word of the Lord to eager children every day at this wonderful school!
I was born and raised in Independence, Missouri. I went to school at Messiah Lutheran in Independence, from Pre-Kindergarten through 8th grade, then attended Fort Osage High School, and graduated in 1992. I am a 1997 graduate of the University of Missouri-Kansas City, where I received a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education. In 2001, I completed my colloquy classes through Concordia College in Seward, Nebraska. I have taught five years at Messiah Lutheran in Independence, Missouri, two years at Bethany Lutheran in Overland Park, Kansas, and twenty years here at Timothy. I have taught at the first, second, and third, and fourth grade levels.
I live in Independence with my wonderful husband, Jeff, my beautiful daughters, Emma (22), and Annabel (18), our crazy cat, Stevie, and our newest additions, our sweet dogs, Juno and Lilah! Our oldest, Avian (25), works at HNTB in Kansas City as a landscape architect. Konrad (almost 23), is currently working and living in Portland, Oregon. Emma works as a Community Support Specialist at Heartland Community Center for Behavioral Change. She received her Psychology degree last May and she loves her new job. :) Our youngest, Annabel, is headed to the University of Nebraska this fall for her freshman year of college. We officially have a Cornhusker in the family. :)
As always, things are changing, but I know God is good and awesome! I am so very blessed, and thank God daily that He placed me here amongst some of the greatest people I have ever met! Things have changed here at Timothy, but we know that God is in control and He works for the good of those that love Him. I truly am able to work with my best friends everyday. That in itself is such a gift. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, teaching, playing volleyball, running, hiking in the woods, decorating my home, reading, writing, doing arts and crafts, and collecting antiques. God is SO good!
