Amazing Ape Week!

AMAZING APE

The Amazing Ape will be chosen on a Friday to be a special person in the classroom for the following week. We will go in numerical order. I will be the Amazing Ape the first week of school! As the Amazing Ape, your child will be able to help out in the classroom and have special jobs daily. Each day of the week will consist of an exciting event or activity to honor him or her. If your child chooses, he or she can take our classroom bear, Timothy, home with you over the previous weekend. Their adventures together can be shared in the journal sent home.

Monday: Photographs: Please send in 10 photos of your child’s choice to be on display on our Amazing Ape bulletin board.

Tuesday: Amazing Ape Poster: Your child will share a poster created by himself or herself to share with the class. (I will provide this.)

Wednesday: Parent Letter: Parents will write a letter to the class telling us how special your child is to you. Send the letter in a sealed envelope to school with your child, or email me a letter, and I will read the letter to the class at class meeting. The content of the letter is up to you, but you may want to choose from the following ideas: Describe special or funny stories about your child for the class to hear, write a silly or serious poem about your child, tell us some neat things we may not know about your child, send silly or special pictures with a letter describing the pictures, or write a short story with your child as the main character. You may also email a video or pictures for the class to view if you choose.

Thursday: Note from friends: Students in the class will be writing paragraphs about the Amazing Ape to be assembled in a book on Friday to be brought home for keeps.

Friday: Crazy Ape Friends: The Amazing Ape will be presented with a book of letters and pictures written and created by his or her classmates. We are all such good friends!
