Happy Weekend!

Hello, all!  I hope you have had a GREAT week!  We have been BUSY in here!

*Today is the last day of the 3RD QUARTER.  Graded papers are coming home, and students have until Tuesday to turn on corrected papers for ½ credit.  I have to have grades submitted by Wednesday morning.  (Regular assignments only, please.  I cannot give points back on tests.)   Thank you!  Grade cards will come home next Friday.  Thank you!

*MORNINGS WITH MOM and other special people was this Wednesday!  It was so wonderful to see all of you!  Our students are so very blessed to have you in their lives.  :)

*We host Chapel this next Wednesday, March 13th at 8:45.  Please come if you can!  4th grade students will be sharing the message of Connecting to Goodness.  We will be working on this during Religion class on Monday and Tuesday.  We will be talking about Jesus death on the cross and the promise he made to one of the men that was being crucified alongside him.  We have a beautiful message about heaven to share!

Here are updates about our classroom:

RELIGION: We have been learning about Jesus preaching in Nazareth and raising Jairus’s daughter.  We had a beautiful discussion about heaven and what we know for sure, what we wonder, and some misconceptions people have.  We consulted God’ s Word for the answers.  We will share what we learned in Chapel next week!

MEMORY for next week:

3/12- For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus… ~Romans 3:23-24

3/15-I am Jesus Little Lamb

I am Jesus' little lamb,

Ever glad at heart I am;

For my Shepherd gently guides me,

Knows my need and well provides me,

Loves me ev'ry day the same,

Even calls me by my name.

LANGUAGE ARTS: We read the true story of Sacajawea, Charbonneau, their son Pomp, and Lewis and Clark.   This goes hand-in-hand with what we are studying in Missouri History!   We were amazed at their adventures, their bravery, and the geographical and scientific discoveries the Corps of Discovery made during their expedition.  We also talked a lot about abbreviations and quotation marks this week.

SPELLING for next Friday, March 15th: (from “Cendrillon”)

harbor, final, middle, weather, labor, model, chapter, special, sugar, bottle, medal, collar, proper, towel, beggar, battle, trouble, shower, uncle, doctor, * garrulous

MATH:  We are busy adding and subtracting like fractions and solving word problems with fractions.  We will review this chapter and test over it early next week.  Please keep working on those math facts!  We finished up Day 100 of our mad minutes today, and will being really quizzing over facts next week.  :)

MISSOURI HISTORY:  We had our test on Monday!  We have been learning SO much about the regions of Missouri and some other Missouri facts.  Next week, we will touch base about our state’s diversity and population, as well as much of the arts, sports, and recreation we have here.  We will learn about a few of our famous Missourians too.

ART:  We had a catch up time in art this week.  We finished our Favorite Memories paintings, our Eastern Bluebirds, and our Other Half Drawings.

WRITING: We had an essay assignment to write about why a particular Bible verse was important to us.  These are beautiful essays!

P.E.:  We played with the parachute this week!  We played Washing Machine, Find Your Shoe, and Popcorn!
