Happy Friday! We just returned from our Fall Harvest Party
out in Greenwood, and the kiddos had a GREAT time! We had an absolutely beautiful day!
Thank you for all of your help this
week transporting, supplying snacks, meeting with me for conferences, and
praying for your child and our school! I
feel like we are a great team, and I am SO thankful to God for all of you! Thanks for sharing your treasures with me
every day…
Highlights from this week:
Helping with the ECC Harvest
Party on Wednesday: It was so great
to see our class and their servant hearts!
We traveled over to the ECC, and were in charge of the games at their
Harvest Party… Four preschool classes joined us, and our kids helped lead the
games. It was neat to see some
personality traits that I had not witnessed before. Some of our class really enjoy being around
small children and helping them. J Perhaps some future teachers in our midst? ;) We
were there about 2 hours. We were able
to meet our pen pals from Ms. Julie’s class, which was awesome! We will be setting up a time to go back over
to the ECC and connect with them again around Christmas. My hope is to work on a servant project with
them and do an art project. Thank you to
those of you that were able to help with this activity!
Parent/Teacher Conferences:
Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedules to meet with me. I have enjoyed visiting with you and sharing important
information about your child. I love
this class so much, and am so proud of them!
Our Fall Harvest Party: Today, we traveled out to Memaw’s and Pa Ron’s! When we arrived, we went on a scavenger hunt
around their property. We then had about
an hour to play on the trampoline, the tree house, the small zip line, and take
go cart ride with the ever-so-careful daughter of the teacher, Emma! (There were no classes at the Freshman Center
today!) Then we all piled on Pa Ron’s
trailer and went on a hayride. We made
full-circle back to the house, and got pumpkins, and then went to the old
school house for lunch, snacks, and fun playing outside on the teeter totter
and swings. I was able to visit with some of you that I normally don’t get too,
and it was a lot of fun! It was a great day, and God supplied AMAZING
weather! Thanks to you that were able to
join us!
Learning about Martin Luther and
the Reformation: This week, we
learned about Martin Luther—his childhood, the steps he took to the
Reformation, and also his life afterwards.
He was an amazing man, and with the Holy Spirit’s guidance helped reform
the church. We will be finishing up
lessons about him next week.
Special Classes this Week:
Art-We created monsters with
a Dice Monster game. They really turned
out pretty cool, and not at all scary!
Writing/Computer Lab-We
learned the history behind Halloween and had some great discussions about
it. We took notes. After this, the kids read through some fun
story-starters, and decided to write a fun autumn story. We will work more on these next week. We completed personal narratives at the
computer lab. I will printing these out
soon!
P.E. We played Four Quadrant
Dodge Ball and learned a new game called Bombardment. This was a favorite!
Music- We met with Mr. Burns
and went over our song, “Thrive!” that we will be singing on Sunday!
Upcoming Events:
