Dear Parents,
Hello! We are
rounding the corner to the end of the school year! Where did it go? We had an amazing Fun Day. The weather was beautiful, the games were a
blast, and we were with our favorite people.
THANK YOU, Mr. and Mrs. Hirsch for your hard work, and all of you that
were able to take the day off and volunteer.
You are much appreciated! The
kids had so much fun, and I was able to get ready for the Athletic Banquet, and
work on grade cards. :)
*This evening is our Athletic Banquet, beginning at
7:00. We look forward to celebrating all
the accomplishments of our athletes tonight.
*Next week has some important things in store, so please
read!
*Just about every academic area has come to a close by now,
but there are three exceptions:
1. Religion.
We will continue our lessons next week.
We are studying the church year, the role of a pastor, and different
ways we can witness to the world around us.
We have written notes to our amazing pastors and thanking them for their
service.
2. Math. We will continue to take mad minutes (The
Winstead’s Test) next week. I will send
you a personal note if your child passed and is coming to Winstead’s after
school next Wednesday! We have had quite
a few pass, and I am so proud of their hard work and dedication! Some have been studying their flash cards
like crazy!!!!....and it is paying off! Thank
you for your help with this!
3. We will
have Specials classes next Tuesday. We
will not have them on Thursday, as we will be gone on our field trip.
*We started
Tim-Olympics this past Wednesday afternoon.
We will continue doing activities each day of next week. This is our way to reward students for all
the hard work and focus they’ve put in this year. Our three rules are as follows: do your best
- be kind - and have fun! If students
can’t follow those rules, we find something else for them to do so that the
rest of their team can still have a great time.
Thank you for your support in this manner.
*We will have our end of the year classroom auction next
week, as well as open our time capsule that we created the first day of
school. We will make a memory book, get
autographs, and give Mrs. Brunkhorst report cards. ;) If
you have any items that you would like to get rid of (!) and donate to our classroom
auction, feel free! (Games, pencils,
erasers, books, really anything you think other kiddos may want!) We will auction off fun items that we have
made as a class, items from our class store, etc.
*On Thursday, we will travel to Burr Oak Woods to go hiking
on some trails, and then off to Railroad Park to eat our lunches, play some
volleyball, ride scooters, and play on the equipment. If you are able to come, please sign-up! We are super-excited!
*Next Friday is going to be a very special end to this year:
1. Closing
chapel - you’re more than welcome to come!!
2. Students
will share their Tim-Olympic lip syncs with the entire school after chapel -
you don’t want to miss this!!!
3. Fun
activities after students organize their remaining supplies/clean their areas
of the classroom.
4. 1:00
dismissal
5. 8th Grade
Graduation at 7:00 - students have been asked to sing. This is such a special night and your
presence will help make it more memorable for the graduates.
*Yearbook orders are still underway! You may order either by sending back the form
or by going online (www.inter-state.com/yearbook and use code 11756C). Each yearbook costs $13. If writing a check, make it payable to
Timothy Lutheran School. The last day to
order is Monday, May 22.
It has been such a fun week!
Many thanks to you and all of your help!
I thank God for each and every one of you and the partnership that we
have. Have a blessed Mother’s Day! God’s Blessings!
