Newsletter from Mr. Holland...

Families of Timothy Lutheran School,

May God’s blessings shine upon you and your family.  Our 2018-2019 school year theme is “Real.   Present.  God.”  Psalms 46

Summer has quickly passed and the beginning of school is right around the corner.  It is that time of year when baseball and softball seasons come to an end and we begin the process of going “back to school”.   School starts Tuesday, August 21, at 8:30 A.M. with Chapel beginning at 9:00 A.M. in our music room.  You are welcome to come!

Our ministry is blessed to have a great staff to educate your child at Timothy Lutheran.  The staff for the 2018-2019 school year are:
                Kindergarten – Mrs. Laura Vogt
1st grade – Mrs. Angie Mundt
                2nd & 3rd grade – Mrs. Ronda Krekel
4th grade – Mrs. Kim Brunkhorst
                5th & 6th grade – Mrs. Sarah Barber
                7th & 8th grade – Mrs. Becky Barnett
K-8th grade Vocal/Classroom Music – Ms. Judy MacLean
Band – Mrs. Janie Wilson & Mrs. Suzie Leeper
School Librarian – Mrs. Raylene Herkamp
                Spanish – Mrs. Saskia Juba
After School Care – Ms. Nicole Kreisler
Administrative Assistant – Ms. Kristen Anderson

If your child is new to Timothy Lutheran School, there is an open house on Monday, August 13 at 7:00 P.M. This is an opportunity to meet your teacher and familiarize yourself with your new classroom.

All families are welcome and encouraged to come to the OPEN HOUSE, Monday, August 20, starting at 6:30 P.M.  Ice cream sundaes will be served in the gym.  We would like you to take time to get to know each other, renew old acquaintances and say hi to the new families and staff.  When you arrive, we will meet in the gym for a short opening and update at 6:30 P.M.  When we are done with our opening, you can proceed to your child’s room to drop off their supplies, have some ice cream, and visit with other parents and teachers.  Our home school ministry continues this year.  Our home school students will join us on Tuesday, August 28.

Home visits will be scheduled soon for full time students.  Your child’s teacher will call and set up a time to visit you.  Home school families will receive a call or email from their teacher.

Hot lunch will be available again this year, beginning August 21.  The cost will be $3.25 for lunch including one milk.  If you want to purchase a milk, it is $.50.   Kristen Anderson will be accepting lunch money at the open house.  You will be able to put money in their account on August 21.

The rummage sale at the north campus in the Family Life Center was a huge success!  The proceeds from the rummage sale were in excess of $9,000.00 benefiting the scholarship program for the school ministries. A special thank you goes out to Deborah Johnson, Gary Piercey and the many volunteers who organized, set up, worked, donated and purchased items.  Thank you all!

Parents and grandparents who are dropping off or picking up students, please follow the following procedures.  Drop-offs should be done at the front door in the mornings beginning at 8:15.   Pick-ups for grades K-3 will be at the front door entering and exiting the parking lot from Wyatt Road.  End of day pick-ups for grades 4-8 will be at the west door entering and exiting from Lincoln Rd. or 7 Hwy.

And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.  Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”  Matthew 5:18-20
God’s Blessings,

Ken Holland
