Here is what we were up to last week:
Religion- We discussed Elijah and Elisha and tested
over Unit 5. Friday we began Unit 6,
discussing Naaman and Elisha.
Memory for this week-
1/28- Be able to say the entire Lord’s Prayer.
1/31- Luther’s Morning Prayer: I thank You, my Heavenly
Father, through Jesus Christ, Your dear Son, that You have kept me this night
from all harm and danger;
Language Arts/Social Studies- We read the story
entitled “My Brother Martin,” written by
MLK’s sister. It was interesting and fun
to hear his story from her point of view. Fourth
graders will share January book reports on Monday, February 3rd.
Spelling Words for THURSDAY, January 30th:
From “Ramona and Her Father.” We are
going to do a whole-class literature study!

answer, amused, untangle, tiresome, Challenge Word: malicious
Math—Please keep practicing those facts! Third graders have begun multiplying and
dividing by 3’s and 4’s this week.
Fourth graders have begun long division and are interpreting remainders. Knowing those facts helps so very much!
Science- We have been learning all about plants and
how they reproduce. We investigated
leaves and used hand lenses to make observations. We will test over Chapter 1 on Wednesday,
February 5th. Be on the
lookout for a study guide and Science Jeopardy!
Art- We made portraits of Martin Luther King, Jr.
Writing-We finished our “I Have a Dream!” dreams!
P.E.-Basketball Skills: We learned how to play HORSE,
but we played RAMS instead! ;)
Music-We are practicing our songs for National
Lutheran Schools Week.
