Make a JOYful Noise!

Hi, friends!

Hi!  I hope this email finds you well!  I have been praying for all of you...and I just want you to know how thankful I am for you!  We have been working very well as a team, and I know that God is blessing this whole process.  Thank you so much for your support.  I did not think there was a reason for a full-blown newsletter, as you have been teaching too, so you know what is being instructed, but I thought I would touch base with you about a few things!

First, thank you so much for filling out the survey.  I appreciate your kind words and your honesty, and it is helping me make a few changes.  :)

With your suggestions, I have made the following changes:
*I have separated out 3rd and 4th grade assignments.  (I believe!)  The program allowed me to have restrictions on who the assignment is for, so I think this will help with some organization.
*I will still video-record devotions.  I think it gets our feet off on the right step daily, and honestly, it helps me too!  ;)
*I would LOVE to talk to your kiddos.  I will set aside some time each day to take phone calls.  I am fine Face-Timing too, although I have to admit, I have NEVER done it!  So, who will be my first?!  Each morning, I will post some blocks of time that your child can "sign-up" for.  If they just want to say hello, or share something with me, that is fine, but I will also be available to discuss work your child is having trouble with.
*If I cannot find a video worthy of sharing for math class, I will begin recording me teaching it.  I am going to have some classroom time this week, or I may just borrow Annabel's white board.  This seems to be the area that students are struggling the most in.
*There were a few of you that asked if we could find a set time each day for instruction.  I am going to look into that, but if it is more helpful for me to work one-on-one with your kiddos, that may be best.  Honestly, I am open to anything.  Please just let me know your preference.

Teachers and Mr. Holland are meeting tomorrow at 3:00 to touch base, share ideas, and connect.  I will let you know of any news I find out.

There are several students that did not take their reading and spelling tests on Friday, so if you are able to do that, please click on the links in the classwork tab, and have your kiddo send those in.  Thank you so much!

For Memory work, I will have students "fill in the blank."  These will be available on Tuesday.  We will just go with the "honesty policy!" ;)

I will be in the school building tomorrow afternoon to collect any work that was dropped off.

I will be emailing you soon with a PDF of their third quarter grade cards.  I will be finishing those up in the next few days.  Thank you for your patience on this!

I read this quote this morning from Max Lucado:
"Courage doesn't panic, it prays.
Courage doesn't bemoan, it believes.
Courage listens to the voice of God calling through the Scripture. "

As we navigate our new "normals," and find ways to comfort our children and connect with others in a new way, we need to lean on Him.  I know that just in the last week, I have made it my goal to be more in God's Word.  There is so much truth and comfort there...and He always knows what I need when I need it!  Again, know that I am praying for you!
God's Blessings,
Kim

Here are some more pictures of kiddos working at home....these made my heart smile.  :)
