Praise God from Whom ALL Blessings Flow!

Hi!  It was a wonderful, busy week!

 Important information:

*Please tune into Timothy Lutheran School’s Facebook page or our school website next Wednesday at 9:00 am. We recorded our poems and songs and can’t wait to share them with you!  Please pass this link onto the veterans in your life!  Thank you!

*Our second quarter mission project is Operation Christmas Child! Families are asked to fill one box by themselves and bring it to school.  We sent a box home with the oldest child in each family on Thursday.  There is a way to build a box online, too, which includes shipping.  If you don't want to assemble a physical box, this is an easy option.

As you fill a box, if you want to build more, go for it!  We will have extra boxes available for anyone who asks for another.  This is such a wonderful way for us to witness, share our blessings, and give the hope of Jesus!  Collections need to be in by Friday, November 20.

*Please save Saturday, November 14, as the potential Mulch Day. Our playgrounds are almost complete!  It is exciting around here!

This is the preschool playground last week, with snow on the ground! ... and today!

The elementary playground!

PRAISE GOD for this gift!

*Timothy Rams Online Store is selling t-shirts, sweatshirts, hoodies, and masks!  An order form is coming home with your kiddo today!

Here is what we have been up to in the classroom:

Religion- This week, we practiced a lot for our Chapel message on Monday and Tuesday!  We did a great job!  Yesterday and today, we began learning about the coming of Jesus, as a baby, and how He was the answer to a long-awaited prayer.

Memory for next week: (this is the meaning for the 2nd commandment, which the students recited today.)

11/10-What does this mean?  We should fear and love God so we do not curse, swear, use satanic arts, lie, or deceive by His name,

11/13-but call upon it in every trouble, pray, praise, and give thanks.

Reading- Third graders read the neat selection about the old storyteller in “The Kamishibai Man.”  Fourth graders read a story that was told through friendly letters, called, “Dear Mr. Winston.”  We discussed friendly letters, and how to give a sincere apology.

Spelling Words for Friday, November 13th:

3rd-from “Young Thomas Edison”-talk, cross, awful, law, cloth, cost, crawl, chalk, also, raw, salt, wall, lawn, always, often, strawberry, *aghast

4th-from “Jose! Born to Dance” – learn, dirty, worn, sore, thirst, burn, record, cure, board, course, worth, early, return, pure, world, search, worse, thirteen, sport, current, curious, thorough, *aghast

Math-Third graders tested today over Chapter 3—They are really getting great at long subtraction and subtracting across those zeroes!  Next week, they will begin multiplication!  Fourth graders discussed the properties of multiplication this week and have begun to solve longer word problems.  We will be really zoning in on our mad minutes next week, as the kids begin to memorize those multiplication facts!  Thanks for any work you have been doing at home!  Flash cards are best!  :)

Science-This week, we started reading all about living things!  We will do some experiments next week!

 SPECIAL CLASSES

Art-We continued on our Creation flip books.  We also made pictures depicting whey we are proud to be Americans!
