(Friday), and before and after Worship on January 30 (Sunday). We also have an online option at www.scholastic.com/bf/tlsrams.
This year we have an exciting new feature called the
E-Wallet. Parents can set up an E-Wallet
online and share with friends and family so students can shop the fair with
their funds!
Thank you so much for your support - all purchases benefit
our school! We do need volunteers for
short shifts throughout the week. If you’d like to sign up to volunteer, check
out the sign up at https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0D4CACAF2AA5FCC61-tlsjanuary.
*Do you have a broom at home? If so, could we borrow it next week for our
Talent Show song and dance? I have
several, so if you cannot send it, please don’t worry! If so, however, please send it to school on
Monday with your name somewhere on it, and we will send them back home on
Friday. (Some “Step-In-Time!)
*On Thursday, we will be making valentines and writing
letters to people in our community and church.
We have a list of shut-ins from our church that we will be sharing some
love with, but if you have the name and address of a soldier or a healthcare

Here is what we have been up to this week:
RELIGION- We learned all about Naaman, Elisha, and the
servant girl this week, in a beautiful story of God’s healing grace. We also had a wonderful discussion about how
to be good witnesses for God, even at 9 or 10 years old. We discussed ways that we can share Jesus’
love through our actions and words, and ways we help others. We even talked about how to witness to others
that think that God has deserted them or when God does not hear their prayers. We have the promise that God is ALWAYS with
us. This is such an amazing group of
kiddos with amazing ideas!
MEMORY next week:
1/25- Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our
trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
2/1- And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from
evil. For Thine is the kingdom, the
power, and the glory forever and ever. Amen.
LANGUAGE ARTS/SOCIAL STUDIES- We again discussed the life of
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. by reading a story called Happy Birthday, Dr.
King! We discussed Rosa Parks, the
bus boycott, and what discrimination looks like. After watching/hearing the short story of Dr.
Seuss’s The Sneetches, we discussed how being different is how God
planned for us to be—and ALL, EVERYONE is beautiful!
SPELLING WORDS for Friday, January 28th: (from Ramona and Her Father)
genuine, anxious, comet, pretend, utilize, cross, urge,
coax, swifter, outrunning, *unfortunately
MATH-This week, we have learned how to divide, having zeroes in the quotient, and how to solve multi-step word problems. These last few days, we have been reviewing the many skills we have learned in this chapter, including long multiplication and long division. We will test over this chapter next week, and begin a unit on patterns. Graded reviews are coming home today. Please take the time to go over these with your kiddo, so they can find their mistakes and be ready for the test on Monday. Good job, 4th graders!
SCIENCE- We are studying the world of plants! Today we dissected some onion plants and
looked for the various pant parts.
SPECIAL CLASSES
Art- This week, we worked on our auction project. (Take a sneak peek below!)
Health- We discussed mental health—How to think positively,
find our strengths, lift others up, and how to lean on God and Christian
friends in those times of trouble.
P.E.- We played a fun dodgeball game called “Swamp Ball.”
Music- We practiced some “Step in Time” and some “Go Tell
It” for church on Sunday!
Writing- We worked on
and shared our fictional narratives.
Have a wonderful weekend! Go Chiefs!
