Happy Veteran's Day!

Hello, Parents!  It was a quick and fun week!  This week, we really focused on three things:

1. We talked about the Creation story, and how amazing our God is!  We are blessed beyond measure.  We worked on our Creation books and will continue this next week.  They are beautiful!

2. We began learning all about the first Thanksgiving, and also talked about our own Thanksgiving traditions.  We are writing short personal essays about this.  These will be completed next week as well.  We will continue learning about Thanksgiving in Reading, Spelling, and Social Studies next week.  We will each assume as role as a Pilgrim or as a Wampanoag Indian, learn all about them and what they experienced, and have some fun too!  Our feast is scheduled for November 24th, and I will be sending out a Sign-Up Genius today.

3. We have been honoring our Veteran’s this week too!  We have a hallway display commemorating Veteran’s Day with stars honoring those close to our hearts.  Thank you for sending those names in!  If you have not done so already, it is not too late.  We will leave it up through the end of the month.  Also, if you have addresses of past or present veterans, please send them my way, as we wrote letters and drew pictures of thanks for them today, and I would like to mail those in the next few days.

Tim Mercer and Debi Mercer, Nolan’s grandparents, came and visited us today, bringing Army uniforms and memorabilia from the Army. He is an Air force and Army veteran, served 24 years, served as Military Police, and was in Operation Iraqui Freedom.   It was wonderful impromptu visit, and we enjoyed visit with him and asking questions so very much!  Thank you, Tim!

**THANK YOU to all veterans today!  It is humbling to know how many have given their lives, their time, and their service to God, to us, and to our country.  Thank you so much!
