Happy Friday! I hope
this note finds you well! It is such
pretty weather outside. Please enjoy God’s creation!
This week has been a busy one. We have been getting back into the swing of
things, and have learned so much!
Today in Religion, we discussed what it means to
belong to Jesus, and I just have to share some of their answers! It is
so beautiful to me how the students and I can learn and inspire each other…
What does it mean to belong to Jesus?
“We are God’s children.”
“It’s an amazing feeling!”
“We are free from sin.”
“We are forgiven.”
“It is the meaning of love.”
“It is more than even my parents’ love for me.”
“It is more than even my parents’ love for me.”
“EVERYTHING!”
Aren’t we blessed?
Memory for Next Week:
March 7- Say the entire Evening Prayer.
March 10 -The Apostle's Creed
I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and
earth.
And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate
During Language Arts this week we worked with
compound words and also read the stories “Life on the Ice” and “Sacajawea.” We learned so much! We have also almost learned the entire
lowercase cursive alphabet! Woohoo!

Math-3rd graders finished up their unit on
simple multiplication and division today.
We completed the review and will test over these skills on Monday. They will be able to use their multiplication
charts. Keep working on memorizing those
facts at home! 4th graders
worked with their 8’s, 9’s, and completed their tests today. They will work with mean, median, mode, and
stem and leaf plots next week.
Science-We finished our chapter about living things. The students will bring home a study guide on
Monday, we will play our jeopardy game to review on Wednesday, and our test
will be on Friday. They will basically
need to know the vocabulary words from the chapter. Please remind them to use their study
guide. Thank you!
Art-We completed our self-portraits of us in the
future, and I will hang these in the hall today after school! We began to make projects about our animals
that we researched. These are beautiful!
Writing- We share our research reports this week, and
will begin working on poetry next week!
P.E.- We played Wesley’s favorite: dodgeball!
Reminders:
*Our hot lunch program has changed. Effective this next Monday, we will not be
offering hot lunch each day, as our cook position has not been filled. We will still offer pizza for lunch on
Wednesdays.
*How is your child’s Science Fair project coming along? The Science Fair is next Friday, March
10. I am so excited to see what each
child has prepared and how it all turned out!
If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Stack –
jennifer@the-stacks.com
*Our School Ministry serves Lenten Supper at our north site
on Wednesday, March 15. The menu will be
pizza, salad, and cookies. We will need
some help serving and contributing items, so look for more information to come
home soon!
*Enrollment for the 2017-2018 school year is underway, and
as of writing this, we are already up to 53 students for next year! That’s awesome!! The early-bird cut-off date has come and
gone, but it’s not too late to enroll!
Since some rooms are filled with more students than others, you may want
to return your enrollment information as soon as possible to be sure your spot
is saved for next year. Enrolling as
soon as possible helps us make the proper arrangements for the upcoming school
year (textbooks, staffing, etc.), which we’re eager to plan well for! If you know of any friends looking for a new
school home, be sure to mention us, too!
*Today, we sent home a flier about Trivia Night, a GREAT
fundraiser for our school! On Friday,
April 21, there will be 10 rounds of general knowledge questions + prizes given
out for various reasons (one of the top teams, last place, best
decorations/costuming, etc.)
Participation is limited to 9th Grade and older. 7th/8th grade will be there selling items;
proceeds will benefit their upcoming class trip! Play is limited to 30 teams of 8, so register
early to ensure your spot! Tickets
purchased before April 2 are $120 per team or $15 individual; after April 2,
tickets are $140 per team or $20 individual.
Please let us know if you have any questions!
