Happy Friday!

Hello, Parents!  As I sit here writing this, I am listening the children chat and talk as they are enjoying their STAR Party.  :)  They are laughing and carrying on, and it is like music to my ears… They are having a fun Friday!

I have to tell you… We began a new mini-Religion unit from CPH this week, called “Getting Along.”  We have had the best discussions, while learning so much about one another.  We have talked about “porcupine words,” and how hurtful they are.  Today we worked as small groups on demonstrations, to learn how to work as a team.  We also read a great devotion story this week called, “The Good That I Should,” based on Romans 7.

15 For I do not understand my own actions. For I do not do what I want, but I do the very thing I hate.

It was such a blessed reminder of Jesus’ saving grace!  Amen!

Here are some upcoming events:
*Tonight is the Science Fair!  It is here at Timothy, in the lobby, from 4:00-6:00.  Come and check out all of the Science projects and Maker’s Fair projects.  They are amazing!

*Next Wednesday we host the Lenten dinner at Timothy Lutheran Church. We will be serving pizza, salad and dessert. We have been asked to provide the cookies.  http://www.signupgenius.com/go/30E0B48A4AE2BA1F58-lenten1
Thanks in advance for your help!! Now, don’t forget to come and eat next Wednesday, March 15, 4:30-6:30, north site! Original Pizza and free will offering!

*Next Friday, March 17th, is the last day of third quarter.  We will dismiss at 1:00.  I have reminded the students to make sure all of their work is turned in.  Third grade book reports are due.

*K-8 sings at the South campus on March 19.  We will meet at the front of the church, sing after the welcome, and then students will be dismissed to sit with parents.

*Enrollment for the 2017-2018 school year is continuing to go well!  We are now up to 59 students for next year!  Home school families, don’t forget to enroll, too!  If you know of any friends looking for a new school home, be sure to mention us!

*Trivia Night is about a month away now.  Mark your calendars for Friday, April 21!  There will be 10 rounds of general knowledge questions + prizes given out for various reasons (one of the top teams, last place, best decorations/costuming, etc.)  Participation is limited to 9th Grade and older.  7th/8th grade will be there selling refreshments; proceeds will benefit their upcoming class trip!  Play is limited to 30 teams of 8, so register early to ensure your spot!  Tickets purchased before April 2 are $120 per team or $15 individual; after April 2, tickets are $140 per team or $20 individual.  Please let us know if you have any questions!

Here is what else we have been up to:
Science: We finished up our chapter about plants and animals this week, played Jeopardy to review, and tested today.  I have not graded them yet, but they all seemed very confident!

Writing/Art: We discussed adjectives, and picked 10 adjectives that described ourselves.  We have then painted color combinations to make I Am… posters.  We will continue work on this next week.

P.E.:  We played kickball this week, and have learned all the rules.

Math: 3rd graders are learning how to multiply with 3 numbers—practicing the commutative and associate properties.  4th graders worked with mean, median, mode, line plots, and stem and leaf plots.

Have a wonderful weekend!

God’s Blessings,
