Hi, Parents! I hope
you had a wonderful week! We have been
busy in 3rd/4th grades!
We went to the ECC on the 21st, and had so much fun helping
the preschoolers celebrate during their Flower Power party! Thanks for all of your help!

Thank you in advance for giving of your time in this way.
Religion this Week:
This week, we finished Unit 3 in our “Getting Along”
series. We have talked about how to be
effective listeners and speakers, and also ways to solve disputes peacefully by
being assertive, not aggressive. We have had some super-great discussions, as
well as reenacting some situations that we may face every day with our Brothers
and Sisters in Christ. We are learning so much!
Language Arts: We learned about quotations marks this
week, and how use them correctly. We
learned cursive capitals, C, D, E,
and F.
Math: 3rd graders worked with word problems this week
that incorporate 2 steps. We have also practiced
working with variables. We will be
testing over this next week! 4th graders
worked with factors and prime numbers, as well as equivalent fractions. PLEASE
continue working with your 3rd or 4th grader on their multiplication
tables! Flash cards, computer games, and
just plain repetition will help. We are
headed to Winstead’s in a couple of months to celebrate those that are able to
learn them all! Just a little incentive…
:)
Social Studies: We have been talking about being good
citizens. We have also learned how to
read bar graphs and line graphs. We even
created one of our own as an assignment.
Writing: We
wrote letters to our future-selves… We talked about our interests and likes
right now, as well as our hopes and dreams that we hope for by the time we are
8th graders. This was
fun! I will hold onto these until your
kiddo is in 8th grade! :)
P.E.-We had fun learning some track skills and participating
in conditioning!
Art: We listened to “stormy” music and drew what we
heard. We are now painting these masterpieces….and
will call them, Storm on a Wilderness
Lake.
Spanish: The children have been practicing so hard
for their Cinco de Mayo celebration!
Their art is breathtaking, and it is fun for me to watch them learn the
dances, and reciting/singing the songs in Spanish. They are doing a great job! There are several students that struggle with
behavior in that class, so please help us remind them what the expectations
are. Thank you so much for partnering
with us!
Music: The students sounded wonderful on Sunday! It was fun to have K-8 all singing together
to praise our Lord! In both classes, the
students reviewed songs for Cinco de Mayo and the song we will be singing for
graduation. They also reviewed musical
instruments with Musical Instrument Bingo!
Have a wonderful weekend!
Blessings,
Kim
