Dear Parents,
It was SO wonderful to see all of the kiddos this week! I have missed them! I hope you all had a blessed Christmas and
relaxing time with family and friends.
God is so very good to us.
:) We have had a great, short
week! Without having Spelling words and
a Reading selection this week, we were able to spend a lot of time journaling
and WRITING! Yay!
Here is what we have been up to:
Religion- We learned about Elijah and the Prophets of
Baal. We discussed how God has a plan
for each of us and our future!
Math- We slowly returned to math this week, reviewing
long multiplication and division. Today
we added another digit to our long division.
We are getting the hang of it!
Writing- We published our personal narratives and
shared them today during Readers’ Theatre.
They are amazing!
D.E.A.R. Time-We have been listening The BFG
by Roald Dahl. This is such a creative,
fun story!
Science- We have been learning about plants,
photosynthesis, and the transpiration process.
We observed and studied leaves, and made inferences about them. Next week, we will study onions and learn why
they are considered roots!
We also began our first steps of
the Science Fair! Mrs. Stack met with us
on Wednesday to introduce us to the concept and to get the ideas rolling in our
heads! She will be back next week to get
the process started. Your child should
have brought home a permission slip.
Please sign and return this by next Wednesday. Please let me know if you have any
questions.
P.E.- We
learned how to shoot correctly this week, what the basketball key is, and
practiced shooting free throws.
