Dear Parents,
Hello! 7 days of school left! This is crazy! We
have been having tons of fun here in the 4th grade! There are
SO MANY upcoming events, so please take the time to read about them
below. Thank you!
*Today was Fun Day, and there was a lot of fun happening
around here! THANK YOU to all of our amazing volunteers! It was a
great day!
*Tonight is our Activities Banquet! If your child
participated in any or our extra-curricular activities (volleyball, soccer,
basketball, track, cross-country, academic team)here at Timothy, please come
tonight! We will celebrate them with an award, some kind words, and
cheesecake. J 7:00, here
at Timothy.
*Next week, we’ll have a celebration of sorts for all the hard
work students have put in this year - Tim-Olympics!! For those of you new
to this event, it’s a ton of fun! I collaborate with Mrs. Barber and Mrs.
Barnett (the three Mrs. B’s) to create three different teams made up of 4th-8th
grade students. Students then “compete” in various activities that either
highlight academics, coordination, creativity, or sheer luck. Every
“event” is awarded points, and then, after our closing chapel on May 22, we
will hold our medal ceremony.
*Next week, we will have Religion class, a bit of English, a
bit of Science, and the culmination of our Missouri History. The learning
isn’t stopping! ;)
*Please Remember:
You are invited to our….Famous Missourian Living Museum
When? This upcoming Wednesday, May 16th, 9:30 a.m.-11:30
a.m.
Where? Timothy Lutheran Ministries: 4-G’s Area
Why? The 4th grade class has been studying Missouri
history and we want to share some of our knowledge with you!
There is no need to R.S.V.P. Please just come by at
your convenience. The entire museum will take about 20 minutes to go
through and to see all of the exhibits. Thank you!
*OUR WHOLE CLASS (full-time) HAS EARNED THEIR TRIP TO
WINSTEAD’S THIS YEAR! I am SO very proud! We have had some hard
workers in here, as they have ALL memorized their multiplication facts!
It has been a very long time since I have taken a whole class! Some third
graders that have passed are going to join us too! We will be heading to
Winstead’s on north 7 Highway in Blue Springs, after school on Wednesday, May 16th,
at 3:45. There, the class will be treated with skyscraper sodas or
shakes. We will be finished up at 5:00. You can pick your child up
there, or transport them there. Please let me know! I have room in
my car for four, and Mrs. Krekel and Mrs. Barnett have so graciously offered to
help drive as well. It will be fun!
*…and… next Thursday…
We are going to visit Fort Osage and the Harry S. Truman
Library on Thursday, May 17th! We will leave school at 9:15 and head to
Fort Osage first. (107 Osage Street, Sibley, MO 64088) We will have a
guided tour there. Students and adults are $4.00 each. This will
last about an hour and a half. We will then head over to McCoy Park,
(across the street from the Truman Library in Independence), have a sack lunch,
and play for a bit. :) Afterwards, we will go to the Truman Library
(500 W US Hwy 24, Independence, MO 64050) for our tour at 1:00. We were
able to receive a scholarship for this, so the students are free. Adults
are $8.00. Our tour is from 1:00-3:00, and then we will head back to
school for dismissal! We will need drivers for this event, so if you can,
please sign-up below. What a fun day!
In a nutshell:
Students: $4.00 and a sack lunch
Parents: $12.00 and a sack lunch
Thank you so much!
*Next Friday, May 18, is also our Preschool and 8th Grade
Graduation service at 7:00 p.m. ALL students will be singing.
More details will come home next week pertaining to when kids need to arrive,
etc. We hope to see all kids there!
