Here is what we have been up to this week:
Religion- This week, we discussed the stories of
Jacob, Joseph, and Job. We discussed the
phrase, “Life isn’t fair!”, which we all like to say from time to time. We discussed several things: First, life is not fair. Jesus died for us, and took on OUR sins,
which is the ultimate “life isn’t fair.”
Secondly, God in His infinite wisdom, has a plan, and can take our
mess-ups and turn them into something beautiful. Everyday.
All the time. We are SO VERY
blessed.
Memory for next week:
October 9-Fair is the sunshine,
Fair is the moonlight,
Bright the sparkling stars on high;
Jesus shines brighter,
Jesus shines purer,
Than all the angels in the sky.
October 12-Beautiful Savior,
Lord of the nations,
Son of God and Son of Man!
Glory and honor,
Praise, adoration,
Now and forevermore be Thine!
Language Arts- We had so much fun this week, as we
focused on plays! We practiced and
performed a chapter from Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing for the 2nd
and 3rd graders, Mrs. Krekel, and Mr. Holland today, and it was a HIT! The children worked so hard on this!
We also shared book reports this week, and learned about October’s book reports, which are “hamburger” book reports that will be written about books with animals as the main character.

Math- This week, we worked with solving word problems
that included long addition and subtraction, as well as problems where there
are multi-steps. These were tough for
us, but we are getting better! Please
continue to practice multiplication facts at home. Thank you!
Social Studies- We completed a Scholastic News on
Monday, and read an interesting article about jellyfish.
SPECIAL CLASSES
Art- This week, we learned what a “still life”
is. We then used view finders to find
our favorite part of an autumn still life in our classroom, drew it, and
painted it. They are beautiful!
Writing- We finished up our “The Best Part of
Me" book. Next week, we will begin writing personal
narratives. This will take a few weeks to complete, as we
travel through the writing process.
Music- We practiced the songs that we will sing at
church on October 14th.
P.E.-We played dodgeball and pin dodgeball this
week! Fun!
