Hello, parents! Happy National Lutheran Schools’
Week! This week, Timothy Lutheran School is focusing on our Real.
Present. God. What better way to show Real Grace than to share
Christ’s love with Real People?
We are SO very excited about our 3rd quarter mission
project! This quarter, we are raising money to support Community LINC, a
not-for-profit organization that aims to end family homelessness in Kansas
City. Mr. Dan Barber (Mrs. Barber’s other half) is the Community
Engagement Officer there. Today, he came in and shared all about this
organization, and ways that we can help!
There are ways to help as a family or as an
individual—volunteering time, donating items, and much more, but as a school,
we are going to help raise funds.
This is the way we are going to raise funds:
We are going to have a friendly boys vs. girls
competition! Every class, grades PK-8th grade, will bring in as many
coins as they can for about two weeks. (Ending date: February 14th at
8:30 a.m.). There will be a jug for the boys and a jug for the girls
placed in the hallway by the office. Each week, the tally for each group
will be calculated. There will be a total running tally as well.
The group with the largest total at the end of two weeks, will be able to pick
the party that we have for the entire school. Will the boys get to pick
what they want to do for a school-wide party? Will the girls get to pick
the school-wide party? If you think that another group could possibly
defeat you, you can put bills (any amount) in the other jug to take TAKE
AWAY from their total. (Example: $10.00 total of coins-$2.00 in
bills=$8.00 total.) All proceeds will go to Community LINC. We are
so excited!
