Hello, Parents! Happy
Friday! Happy Snow Day?!?! Thanks
for going with the flow with everything!
It has been busy, busy around here the last few weeks--National Lutheran
Schools Week, a Snow Days, and the 7/8 tournament! We have been having a lot of fun and learning
a ton!
Upcoming Events:
*Tonight and tomorrow:
We are hosting the KCLAL tournament this weekend. I have attached the schedule if you want to
come and cheer on the Rams! In a
nutshell: The girls play tonight at 6:00
and the boys play tomorrow at 2:00.
*The tests that we missed today—spelling, reading, Missouri
History—these will be taken on Monday.
Thank you!
*Student-Led Parent/Teacher conferences are coming up next
week, on February 14th and 15th. We
dismiss at 1:00 both days. I am a youth
counselor for Timothy’s middle schoolers and am attending their Youth Quake
trip that weekend. We leave at 4:00 on
the 15th, so I will be able to meet all afternoon/evening on the 14th, and for
just a few hours on the 15th. If you
need another afternoon or evening, please let me know!

*Valentine's Day is Thursday! Students can bring valentines to share,
(please send one for everyone!) and we will have a little celebration in
here!
What we have been learning:
Religion-This week we have been learning about
Jonah! God asked him repeatedly to go to
Ninevah, and Jonah thought he could hide from God. We discussed how we, too, try to hide things
from our Heavenly Father, but He knows, and he always has a plan for us.
Memory for next week-
February 12- Say the entire Evening Prayer.
February 15-In him we have redemption through his blood, the
forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace, which he
lavished upon us, in all wisdom and insight. ~Ephesians 1:7-8
Reading- We shared our oral book reports this week! The kiddos did a great job! This week, we also read the story, "I
Can Do That!", the true story of Esther Morris and her independent,
strong-willed attitude that helped end women's suffrage in the state of
Wyoming. We had some interesting
conversations in class about equality, etc.
I think the students learned quite a bit!
Spelling Words for Friday, February 15th: (Reading
Story: “The Screech Owl Who Likes Television”
somebody, fireplace, nearby, toothbrush, homesick, make-believe,
anything, all right, goodbye, forehead, classmate, flashlight, haircut,
twenty-two, driveway, alarm clock, baby-sit, airport, forever, mailbox, field

Social Studies/Science-
We finished up Chapter 2 in our Missouri History books and
tested over it today! Next week, we will
begin the next unit in Science. Mrs.
Stack visited this week and the kids ready to go on their experiments! Please make sure they finish their packet
before putting anything on their boards that they brought home. More details can be found here: Thanks!
