Hello, Parents! Happy
Friday--again! It has been wonderful
visiting with you during the Student-Led conferencing. It is hard for me to believe that we are
halfway through the 3rd
Quarter of this year…geesh! This snow is something else… praying for your safety this
weekend! I have ended the day with 4
kiddos! ;)
...and then there were 4!
...and a crazy teacher!
...and a bear?!?!
Upcoming Events:
*We have school next Monday, February 18th. We are using this day to make up our last
snow day.
*High School Question
and Answer Night is on Thursday, February 21st from 6:00 to 7:00 pm. We
will have a panel of former students from Timothy to talk about their high
school transition and Lutheran High and
St. Paul’s, Concordia will be there to answer questions you may have.
What we have been learning:
Religion-This week we have been learning about the 3
men in the fiery furnace, and how they trusted God and knew that He was with
them. God is always there. Yesterday, we discussed 1 Corinthians 13, and
read beautiful story about loving one another.
We actually needed to hear this in our classroom…I have to tell you, God
is AMAZING! He is omniscient and knows
exactly what we need and when, and He spoke powerfully through these verses
this week, just when we needed to hear them.
1 Corinthians 13: 4-8a
and 13~
Love is patient, love
is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor
others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of
wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always
protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Love never fails.
And now these three
remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
Memory for next week-
February 19- Now may the God of peace himself sanctify you
completely, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless at
the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. He who calls you is faithful; he will
surely do it.
~1 Thessalonians 5: 23-24
February 22 -The Apostle's Creed
I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and
earth.
And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
Reading- This week, we read the story The Screech
Owl Who Loved Television, which is the true story about a family who had a
small screech owl as a pet, until they set it free. This lead to some great discussions. What a sweet story! I have urged the kiddos to start taking their
reading selections home to read. The selections
are getting tougher and the more they read them aloud, the more comprehension
will occur, as well as reading fluency.
Thank you for your help with this.
