There are a ton activities coming up…please look below!
*The Activities Awards Night is tonight, in the gym at 7:00!  I will see most of you there!

*Please say a prayer for our cross-country runners, as they are headed out to Stilwell, KS to run this afternoon!

*Our Rams Run will be this Tuesday, May 14th, at 5:00.  It looks like we are going to have good weather!  The sign-up to help is below.  Thank you!  https://www.signupgenius.com/go/4090e4bafaf2ca46-tlsrams

*Our Famous Missourian Living Museum is NEXT WEDNESDAY!  We have been busy getting ready!  Your child is finishing up their biography rug, and writing down facts that they will share at the museum.  What can you do?  Help them find something to wear that would represent that person.  They will need these by Wednesday morning.  PLEASE don’t go out and purchase anything… Please email me if you have any questions.  I can help you come up with ideas!

When?  Wednesday, May 15th, from 10:00 a.m.-11:30 a.m.
Where?  Timothy Lutheran Ministries: 4-G’s Area
Why?  The 4th grade class has been studying Missouri history and we want to share some of our knowledge with you!

*We will have our Multiplication Masterpiece party after school on Wednesday (5/14)!  Right now, we have 5 students attending!  We will test Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday next week to see if any others can join!  They can do this!

*Friday is our field trip!  To culminate our studies of Missouri History, we are going to Harry S. Truman Library and Missouri Town on Friday, May 17th!  We will leave school at 8:45 and head to Truman Library first (500 W US Hwy 24, Independence, MO 64050) for our tour at 9:15. We were able to receive a scholarship for this, so the students are free.  Adults are $8.00.  The tour is about two hours long.  Afterwards, we will head across the street to McCoy Park, quickly eat our sack lunches and play for a bit.  Then, we will head back this way to Missouri Town (8010 E Park Rd, Lee's Summit, MO 64081) for our tour at 12:30.  Students are $4.00 and adults are $3.00 each.  This will last about an hour and a half.  If we have time, we may stop and play before we come back to school again too.  We will need drivers for this event, so if you can, please sign-up below.  What a fun day!

In a nutshell:
Students: $4.00 and a sack lunch
Parents: $11.00 and a sack lunch

*Preschool and 8th Grade Graduation is next Friday, May 17th at 7:00 p.m.  ALL students are highly encouraged to attend, as the band and choir groups are both going to be performing.  Since Timothy is such a family, it will be even more meaningful to have our whole school there to send off our graduates with our prayers and support.

*We will have Tim-Olympics on Monday and Tuesday, May 20th and 21st.  Now, you may be asking, WHAT IS TIM-OLYMPICS?  We really enjoy our family-like atmosphere at Timothy, so we’ve utilized the final days of school in the past to put kids into groups, celebrate our learning with a variety of games, and just have FUN.  The teachers from 4th-8th Grade collaborate to create games that review ALL we’ve learned, from religion to math to science to PE.  It’s fun to see the kids work together and shine in their strengths.  One of our favorite events is the lip sync, where kids get to show off their creative side!  It’s always a big hit.

* Timothy Lutheran yearbooks are now on sale!  Ordering will be available up until our last day of school.  Yearbooks cost $13.  You’re welcome to order by sending back the order form/flier that came home last week OR you can visit www.inter-state.com/yearbook and enter the code 32402K.  You’re welcome to pay with cash or check payable to Timothy Lutheran School.  (If ordering online, debit/credit is an option.)  If you’ve lost your original order form, Mrs. Anderson has some in the office.
*Be sure to update your calendars for our last day of school which will now be Wednesday, May 22, with a 1:00 dismissal.

Here is what we have been up to in the classroom:
Religion- This week, we finished up Units 7 and 8 and tested over them this morning.  We will finish up the year discussing the disciples and their work here on earth after Jesus returned to heaven.  We finished up memory work this week!

Reading/MO History-We finished up our books about Harry Truman!  We will continue talking about early Missouri next week, and will test over all of that information on Wednesday.  The kids are ready!  We will not have spelling words next week.  Some of the kids that were finished with their book report biography rugs shared with them class.  We were able to learn about the famous Missourians: Harry Truman, Laura Ingalls Wilder, Mark Twain, and Molly Brown.  :)  The rest of them will finish them up on Monday.

Math- This week, we worked with fractions—finding equivalent ones, putting them in simplest terms, and putting them in order.

P.E.-We played “Hook-On” tag!

Music-During choir, the students practiced songs from previous musicals and songs for this year’s graduation!  They also earned a fun game party for good behavior.  That makes this teacher very proud…

Art-We worked on our rugs and Mother’s Day cards for you!  Happy early Mother’s Day!
