Hello, parents! This
has been such a fun week! We celebrated
National Lutheran Schools’ Week this week, along with all of the other Lutheran
Schools all over the world! Pretty
amazing!
-MONDAY-JOYFULLY—Dressed as Heroes! We wrote about our heroes, and heard all
about our new service project. (Please
see below.)
-TUESDAY-THANKFULLY—Dressed for School Spirit! We wrote about our favorite things about
Timothy Lutheran School. In the
afternoon, we wrote Thank You cards to all of the volunteers and special people
in our lives—veterans, firefighters, police officers, our custodian, our
principal, etc.
-WEDNESDAY-PEACEFULLY—Dressed in our PJs! We had an all-school movie and some snacks in
the afternoon.
-THURSDAY-FAITHFULLY-Dressed as Chapel Family Choice. We play Bible games in the afternoon.
-TODAY/FRIDAY-HOPEFULLY-Dressed our best! This was grandparents and our Talent
Show! We loved having all of these
lovely visitors in the building… :)
Important Upcoming Events:
*Today is the 100th Day of School! We will celebrate on Monday. :)

on! *Our Lady Rams 4/5 Girls’ Team have their league tournament
this weekend! Come and cheer them
on! They lost, so they play tomorrow,
Saturday, February 1, at 9:30 am at Bethany Lutheran School, 9101 Lamar Avenue,
Overland Park, KS.
*Students sing this Sunday, February 2nd,
at the 9:30 service only, at R.D. Mize Campus.
This is our closing to National Lutheran Schools’ Week! They can wear Rams gear or church clothes. Students will sit with their parents and come
up front to sing when announced.
*Our third quarter mission project is underway! This quarter, Timothy is supporting the
Leukemia and Lymphoma Society by participating in their Pennies for Patients
Program! We had our kick-off today with
an assembly this afternoon. We learned
all about the organization, what our contributions will do, and how we can
help.
The Leukemia & Lymphoma
Society’s (LLS) Pennies for Patients program is working with thousands of
schools across the country to raise funds for blood cancer research and patient
support services. Our school has partnered with LLS to take on the mission of
ending cancer once and for all.
There are 4 ways that your student
can help:
1. Your
child can PRAY for these individuals with cancer, and for the researchers and
doctors that are searching for a cure.
2. Your
child can bring monetary donations to school.
They were given a box today to collect these materials. We will be collecting this money in each
classroom.
3. With your
help, you child can go online and join our school’s team to make an online
donation.
4. With your
help, your child can go online and join your child’s classroom team to make an
online donation.
With the latter two, it is very
easy to get signed up. Please go to this
website: https://events.lls.org/pages/mid/Timothy-Lutheran-School-2020
If you choose to join your child’s class, you just enter the
last name of your child’s teacher to get signed up.
With this, your child will have an account and link that can
be shared with friends and family members if they would like to donate too!
If our school raises $750, all of the classes get donuts,
AND the class with the largest percentage of money raised will get a pasta
party!
We are collecting donations until February 14th!
*Student-Led Parent/Teacher conferences are coming up
on February 13th and 14th. We dismiss at 1:00 both days. If
you need another afternoon or evening, please let me know! Here is the link to sign-up: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0c4dadab2da7f58-1stquarter
