I miss and love you.

Hi, families!  First, I want to say that I miss your kiddos so much right now… my heart hurts!  I know that this is a time of uncertainty and perhaps fear, but please remember that God is in charge, and He has us in His arms.  He’s got this…and together, as brothers and sisters, we can do this.  We just have to put our faith in Him.

“Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.”
~1 Peter 5:6-7

The teachers met this morning, and have come up with a plan.  I am sure this plan will change, or will change shape, but for right now, this is what my plan is:
I am in the process of making a packet of papers that will be available tomorrow morning for you to pick up.  Each kiddo will have a bag with his or name on it on a table by the front doors of the building.  I will have a list of assignments for each day, similar to what I send home when your child is sick.  If you have not picked up books yet, they are on each child’s desk.  They will need these to work from home.

Right now, I am teaching myself how to upload videos, so I can teach some using a private YouTube channel.  I will share those links with you in my next email.  Your child, you, and I will be the only people that can access this.  I am inviting you all to use Google Classroom.  Again, this will be private to just those in our class.  After I send this, I will be sending you an invitation.  This is your option, but this will be a good place for us to have a central place to post these video links, along with assignments, and also where your child can post questions, and I can post answers.  I do have to admit to you, though, I will be learning alongside you and your child.  Google is not new to me, but Google Classroom is, so please extend me some grace, if you will!  I can promise you I will mess up a thing or two (or hundreds!)  You all have my grace too!

If having internet access is tough for you, I completely understand.  I will keep you updated with what the lessons are, and how best to teach them, if that is the case.  My hope and prayer for you, is that you do not need to do a lot of instruction, but that can still be me, either with Google Classroom, and videos, or by personally setting aside some time during the day that I can chat with your child.  Once I figure things out, I hope to find a time each day that we can all still have our “circle time,” or devotions/highs/lows, as this is our family time in the classroom and something I know each of us treasures so very much.

Be on the lookout for an email that has all of the assignments for the next two weeks.  It will be coming soon!

Here are some updates about our calendar:
These things are cancelled for the month of March—
-Lenten Dinner
-Singing at church
-Trivia Night

Please continue working on lines for the Spring Musical (if you have any), and we are still planning on the Science Fair.  Even if we are out of school longer than expected, we will still do Science Projects.  This is a great learning tool, and a lot of fun!  We will find a way to share them!  Thank you!

I will be emailing you in the next couple of hours with assignments.  J  Thank you!
God’s Blessings to you all,
Kim
