Friday, Friday, Friday!

 Hello, 3rd/4th grade parents!  This week has really flown by!

 THANK YOU for the beautiful birthday notes, cards, gifts, and the surprise snacks and decorations.  The kiddos made me feel like a queen all day long!  I am SO blessed.

Some reminders:

*The end of first quarter is this next Friday, October, 16th!  We have a 1:00 dismissal that day so teachers can work on grade cards.  :)

*First quarter conferences are coming up on October 29th and October 30th!  Conferences will either be a Zoom conference or an in-person conference.  Please choose what is best for your family.  Here is the sign-up:

 *We get out of school at 1:00 on both of those days (October 29th and 30th.)  There will not be Special classes on the 29th, so homeschool kiddos will not be coming.   However, we will have our Fall Party on the 30th, and I would love it if Addie and Mackenzie could come!  Our party will be from 10:30 until about lunch time, but they are welcome to come and stay through lunch and the 1:00 dismissal.  For the party, I have planned some fun outdoor and indoor activities.  I will just need some students to bring in treats!  If you are able to help, please sign-up!  Thank you!

Here is what we have been up to in the classroom:

Religion-We took a Religion Test over Unit 2, and have been discussing the traits of our Heavenly Father.  Today, we focused on the word Creator, and learned all about the Creation story. We made beautiful illustrations!   “Worthy are you, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they existed and were created.”  ~Revelations 4:11

Next week, we will discuss what angels do, and what heaven and hell are.  I am anticipating some amazing conversations!

 Memory for next week:

10/13-When we've been there 10,000 years, bright shining as the sun; we've no less days to sing God's praise than when we've first begun.

10/16- Luther’s Morning Prayer: I thank You, my Heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ, Your dear Son, that You have kept me this night from all harm and danger;

 Language Arts- 3rd graders read the story, “What Do Illustrators Do?”  We learned so much about the decisions illustrators and authors make.  It was very interesting!  4th graders read about the collage artist Romare Bearden in the story, “Me and Uncle Romie.”  We learned all about Harlem and collage painting.  This week, we also learned reviewed how to write complete sentences using the skill use the question to answer the question.  This will be a skill that we can use for our whole lives!
