God always keeps His promises...

Happy Friday, 3rd and 4th grade parents!  Achievement Testing is DONE!!!  I am SO very proud of these kiddos and their hard work!

 *Report cards come home today!  Please be on the lookout for these!

 *Please make sure you have signed up for student-led conferencing!  They will take place March 25th and 26th. We will have a 1:00 dismissal both days (there will be aftercare).

The students will share their favorite work and a personal report card.  If you are uncomfortable meeting here at school, I will prepare your child to share his or her student-led conference with you at home.  I will not need to be present.

 Besides testing every morning, here is what we have been up to this week:

Religion- We discussed in detail the 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th commandments.  We learned how to apply these commandments to our own lives, and also looked at the examples of Cain and Abel, Joseph and his brothers, Joseph and Potiphar, and David and Bathsheba.  We are SO very thankful for our loving, gracious, forgiving God!

 Science- This week we learned all about ENERGY!  We created food chains and food webs.  We also learned how to take our lunches and trace them back to whether each food was a consumer or producer.  We read several real-life scenarios and came up with ways to be more energy efficient.  I am so proud of these kiddos and their ideas!

Food chains...

Math- We had some fun Wednesday afternoon counting and graphing some Lucky Charms!

 D.E.A.R.-We finished up “The BFG” by Roald Dahl and watched the movie today!  (Thanks, Hannah!)  We had popcorn, Hawaiian punch, and cookies too!  What a way to celebrate the end of testing!

 Specials-

Art-This week, we created Spring/Easter pictures (any kind of media), for our school art competition.  We are competing to have our artwork displayed on the front of the LiveWell postcard invitations that will be coming out later this Spring.  They turned out so beautifully!  They will be on display in the hallway soon!

Writing-We are still working on those animal research reports!

Computer Lab-We published and played games.

P.E.-We had free time in the gym!

Music-We are practicing songs for the Spring Musical, and my personal favorite, “Peanut, Peanut Butter!”

Spanish-Students learned springtime words and shared a book about Spring!

Memory for next week:

3/23-Beautiful Savior,

King of Creation,

Son of God and Son of Man!

Truly I'd love Thee,

Truly I'd serve Thee,

Light of my soul, my Joy, my Crown.

3/26-Fair are the meadows,

Fair are the woodlands,

Robed in flowers of blooming spring;

Jesus is fairer,

Jesus is purer;

He makes our sorrowing spirit sing.
