I will recap our week below.
Theme: “In ALL Things”
Sunday- Jan 23 – We sang
beautifully on Sunday! Thank you to all
who were able to come and share the Good News!
I look forward to hearing the littles sing this Sunday. :)
Monday-CHRIST – We
dressed with Christ-like messages on our shirts and hats. We also discussed how we are Kids of the
Kingdom," and made crowns. We
talked about how we can bring Christ into the world though witnessing and
living out His Word...
Tuesday-CREATION -- Today
we discussed God's AMAZING Creation, and dressed as our favorite parts. In Art class, the 4th graders worked on Day
3-- plants and trees. We added these to
a whole school Creation mural!
BEAUTIFUL!
For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens
and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or
authorities—all things have been created through Him and for Him. ~Colossians 1:16
Wednesday-CHILDREN --
Class Color--Ours is PURPLE! Pastor John led the message at Chapel this
morning, and his message was clear: We
cannot be all things to all people--Only God can do that! Our job as Children of the Heavenly Father is
to witness and care for one another! We
CAN do that! This afternoon was our
BIBLE BEE! Congrats to our friends
Taylor, Clay, and Brekken, who represented our class! Miss Brookelyn Meierer from 7th grade was our
winner!
Thursday-CHURCH We
discussed how we bring the Church into the world... How will we witness to others in our future
vocations? How do we witness now? The church is not a place, it is a PEOPLE! It was Career Day—we dressed up as what we
wanted to be in the future. In the
afternoon, we made cards for homebound church members, volunteers here at
Timothy, healthcare workers, soldiers, etc.
Friday-COMMUNITY Today we
dressed our best and invited our community (our awesome grandparents and
special people) to our Talent Show! We
even had Comfort Dogs, Jessie, and Thomas, join us today! It was SO wonderful to have all of these
people in our building! God is SO
good!
Here is what we have been up to this week:
RELIGION- This week, we learned the stories of Jonah
and The Three Men in the Fiery Furnace.
We discussed faith, how to lean on God and not our own understanding,
and also how to share that faith.
MEMORY next week:
2/1- And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory forever and ever. Amen.
2/4- Be able to say the entire Lord’s Prayer.
LANGUAGE ARTS- This week, we began the chapter book, Ramona and Her Father. We will continue reading this book next week and form some literature circles for group discussion and learning. We talked about cause and effect and making inferences.
SPELLING WORDS for Friday, February 4th: pest, grownup, kindergarten, tricycle, sloppy, disappointed, cleverness, managed, alarmed, costume, *especially
MATH- We began working with patterns this week—nonnumeric and numeric patterns and solving word problems with patterns. This was fun and we will dive more in next week!
