I sure missed those kiddos! :)

Hi, all!  I hope you are all doing well!  I had missed the kiddos so much and was happy to see their shining faces on Tuesday!

Here are some upcoming events:

  • Next Tuesday, April 26th, is our 4th Annual RAMS RUN!  Our cross-country runners will be competing against other area Lutheran/Christian schools.  Come cheer on our Rams!  It is always a fun time!  The first race begins at 5:00.
  • The 2nd graders will be leading CHAPEL on April 27th with the theme: “Colors of Creation”.  Students are invited to wear red, white, yellow, green, or purple to school that day.  “A Jellybean Prayer,” using those specific colors, will be part of chapel that day.  Later that evening, is our TLS Spring Band Concert.  It begins at 6:00.  Please come!
  • Our SPRING MUSICAL is next Friday, April 29th , at 6:30 P.M.  Please have your child in our classroom at 6:00.   They are supposed to wear their t-shirts from Pastor Rod and Pastor Ryan.  I have these.  Please let me know if you want me to keep your child’s until that evening, and they can change here, OR if you want me to send it home!  I am fine either way!  ;)
  • Please see this note from Mrs. Otte:

It’s YEARBOOK TIME!

It is getting to be the end of our school year and it will soon be time to complete the yearbook.  If you have any photos from this school year including:

Sports, field trips, Moms and Dads mornings, school and Christmas musical etc.  Please send a copy of the photo to the following address:  photos@timothylutheranschool.com.  We have limited space, so not all the photos will be used.  I appreciate your help!

Order forms will be coming soon.

Thank you,

Mrs. Otte

  • If you are able, please come to our 4TH GRADE’S FAMOUS MISSOURIAN LIVING MUSSUEM on May 12th.  It will be from 10:00-11:30 in the 4-G’s Area outside of the school hallway.

  • I have talked to our (many) kiddos that have SUMMER BIRTHDAYS in here, and we will celebrate these students on two days, separating the boys and girls.  Parents of these kiddos, if you choose to, please just send ion a small snack on these days, and we will have of two days of birthdays feasts!  😉  Thank you!

Girls-Tuesday, May 16th

Boys-Thursday, May 17th

Here is what we have been up to this week:

RELIGION- We discussed the “Parable of the Great Banquet” this week, discussing how our gracious Heavenly Father has invited ALL to His great banquet in the sky.  It is up to us, as Christians, to spread the invitation!  How blessed we are!

 MEMORY for next week:

4/26-Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” ~John 14:6

 4/29-The 23rd Psalm

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

He makes me lie down in green pastures.

He leads me beside still waters.

He restores my soul.

LANGUGAGE ARTS-We continued learning about Harry S. Truman this week.  We learned all about how he had diphtheria and how this affected his life.  We also learned how he moved to Independence, his childhood friends, how he met Bess Wallace, and how an accident helped shape his childhood.

SPELLING WORDS for next THURSDAY, April 29th: (from the book Harry S. Truman: Thirty-Third President of the United States)

positive, believe, presence, wonderful, interesting, delicious, schedule, temperature, church, request, *excruciating

MATH- We have learned how to add and subtract mixed numbers and improper fractions.  We also learned how to multiply fractions by whole numbers!  Almost all of us have memorized our multiplication facts 0-12!  There are a few of us that are still working on it, in hopes for participating in a celebration at the end of the school year.  We can do this!

MISSOURI HISTORY-This week, we worked on our final book report projects---our Biography Lap Books.  We have gotten a good start!  Please urge your kiddo to keep reading their Famous Missourian Biography and to take notes over important events in that person’s life.  We will use these in the reports and in our oral reports when we have our Living Museum.  Thank you!

SCIENCE-Besides learning all about honeybees, we learned about invertebrates, arthropods, and worms!

SPECIAL CLASSES

Art- The honeybee is Missouri’s state insect, so we learned all about honeybees and began some beautiful bee and honeycomb pictures.  These too, will be on display in our museum!

Music- We had a TON of musical practice this week!  We are so excited to share this with you!

Writing- We learn about figurative language--similes and metaphors.

God's Blessings,

Kim
