Hi, 4th grade parents! It is hard to believe that the school year is winding down! Goodness! It has been a whirlwind!
THANK YOU also for spoiling me this week during our Teacher
Appreciation. I have never felt more
loved. I am truly thankful to be doing
what God Called me to do…preaching and teaching His Word, and serving your kids
and you. I love teaching, I love Jesus,
and I love your kids. I am blessed. Thank you.
Here are the events we have left in the school year:
• It’s YEARBOOK TIME! It is getting to be the end of our school year and it will soon be time to complete the yearbook. If you have any photos from this school year including: sports, field trips, Moms and Dads mornings, school and Christmas musical etc. Please send a copy of the photo to the following address: photos@timothylutheranschool.com. We have limited space, so not all the photos will be used. I appreciate your help! Order forms will be coming soon.
• Multiplication Madness Ice Cream Party! I am hoping to do this at school on May 11th. I will send you an update next week.
• TIMOTHY FOOD TRUCK AND FAMILY NIGHT! – Wednesday, May 11th-4:00-6:00—Please bring your blankets and lawn chairs and come for a “picnic-style” night of fun food and fellowship!
• If you are able, please come to our 4TH GRADE’S FAMOUS MISSOURIAN LIVING MUSSUEM on May 12th. It will be from 10:00-11:30 in the 4-G’s area outside of the school hallway. We have been practicing and are READY! Please ask your kiddo what his or her plan is for outfits. I am bringing some things I have at home, and some have said they have things as well. Thank you for your help.
• We are taking an END-OF-THE-YEAR-FIELD-TRIP on Friday, May 13th to Fort Osage and Harry S. Truman Presidential Library. We need drivers, please! Students need to bring $4 and a sack lunch/drink that day. Thank you!! Please see the sign-up: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0c4dadab2da7f58-endoftheyear2
• Summer Birthdays: Girls-Tuesday, May 16th; Boys-Thursday, May 17th
Here is what we have been up to this week:
RELIGION- This week, we discussed Jesus’ Resurrection and
His appearance to Mary and His disciples.
Next week, we will learn about His Ascension and how Peter and Paul
spread the Good News in the first years of Christianity. We also witnessed a Baptism this week! Praise God!
Gracie Evans, a Timothy 7th grader, was baptized during
Chapel this week! It was so AWESOME for us
all to witness! Praise God for His grace
and mercy and love! We also met in the
hallway, as a whole school on National Day of Prayer, and were led in a
beautiful prayer given by Pastor Ryan.
MEMORY for next week:
5/10-
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
all the days of my life,
and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
LANGUGAGE ART/MISSOURI HISTORY- We worked more on our final book report projects---our Biography Lap Books. We tested over Harry S. Truman’s life. We learned about the first Missourians and how they lived, including the Osage. We learned about Fort Osage, and how this served as a trading post between the Osage and the American colonists. ***We do not have any more SPELLING tests!!!
MATH- We learned how to put tenths and hundredths into decimal form, and how to order them this week. Next week, we will work on word problems with decimals and test over the Unit!
FUN TIMES- Next week,
between our final lessons, our class will have some fun doing some
Tim-Olympics, where we form teams and compete in fun classroom games against
one another. There will be three
categories-Creative, Athletic, and Academic.
I am excited to this with my 4th graders! We will also have our end-of-the-year class
auction, where the kids can bid on items with their leftover Brunkhorst Bucks!
SPECIAL CLASSES
Art- We made Mother’s Day cards and finished our
Honeybees. We will be showing off our
Missouri History art work to you next week!
Music- We watched our musical performance.
Computer-We looked at Harry Truman trivia and played
Prodigy.
P.E.-We played something called “Rescue Island” where we had
to get our friends and other items safely across some “shark-ridden” waters to
the other side. This took teamwork and
brainstorming!
Writing-We wrote our “parts” about our famous Missourians
and what we say at the Living Museum next week.
