Here is what we bought: For the infant boy—Some teething rings and a Tummy Time Water Play Mat. For the 7-10 year old boy—Two very cool Lego cars and an Uno game. For the boy who wanted the Spy Ninja Comic Book—We found it for him, and some other Spy Ninja gear!

the quarter! THANK YOU!
Here is what we have been up to this week:
RELIGION- We finished our posters that proclaim that Jesus is King, the Responsibilities of Citizens of the Kingdom of God, and the Rights and Privileges of Citizens of the Kingdom of God. These are in the hallway, and are AWESOME! We also discussed the life of King David ad some of the bad choices he made… We talked about temptation, forgiveness, and the love of or Heavenly Father. Our classroom is now decorated for Advent/Christmas, and each morning, students hunt for our missing wise men, who, when found, deliver a special message about from God’s Word about Christ’s birth to us. Ask you kiddo about this! ;)
12/13- THE EIGHTH COMMANDMENT
You shall not give false testimony against your
neighbor. What does this mean? We should fear and love God so that we do not
tell lies about our neighbor,
12/16- betray him, slander him, or hurt his reputation, but defend him, speak well of him, and explain everything in the kindest way.
LANGUAGE ARTS- We read the nonfiction story, “The Screech Owl Who Loved Television.” This book led us to many great conversations about taking care of wildlife, and what animals make good pets. We worked with proper nouns, and facts/opinions as well. Information about January’s book report over a historical fiction novel came home on Wednesday. I am reading “The Indian in the Cupboard” by Lynn Reid Bands to the kiddos during DEAR time, and they LOVE it! It is quite an entertaining book!
SPELLING WORDS for Friday, December 16th: (from the book “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever,” by Barbara Robinson)
manger, vain, barge, villain, hymn, hustle, cross, urn,
retire, pageant, ancestor, congregation, interrupt, truant, imitation, colic,
bewildered, hysterical, history, contagious, *vengeance
MATH- We tested over Chapter 5—long multiplication and have begun our unit on division! Our facts are almost memorized! We are working on 12s right now, and are getting those down! We began our unit on division, and are in the beginning stages of LONG DIVISION! I am proud of these kiddos and all of their hard work!
SCIENCE- We shared our cell posters this week. We talked about the five different kingdoms and how living things fit into these. Then we narrowed living things down to Kingdom, Phylum, Class, Order, Family, Genus, and Species. We discussed organisms with only one cell, and how organisms are named. We also shared our cell posters! Our noggins are growing! ;)
ART- Students thought about their “most special moments” and
drew pictures about them. They had to
make sure they were front and center in each drawing. Then, pictures were water colored and traced.
MUSIC-We practiced a TON for the Advent Service!
WRITERS’ WORKSHOP/COMPUTER LAB- We published paragraphs
about our “most special moments.” We
shared these in Readers’ Theatre. We
also worked on our Thanksgiving Menus on Google Docs.
Blessings,
Kim
