Hi, all! What a FUN week we have had! Between viewing the Solar Eclipse on Monday to getting ready for the School of Economics next Monday, we have been busy!
Here are a several upcoming events:
*TIMOTHY LUTHERAN PTL is doing a bundt cake & coffee
fundraiser! We have partnered with The Giving Bean and Nothing Bundt Cakes to
raise money for online resources for our classrooms. Our two big resources that
get funded by PTL are Teachers Pay Teachers and Right Now Media.
This year we are going to make the sales even sweeter. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place students that get the
highest gross sales will get 2 tickets to Silver Dollar City! The fundraiser
will be from April 8th to April 19th. Order forms MUST BE returned on April
19th. Order forms were sent home Monday, April 8th. Please contact Kristina
Tierney with any questions at kristinat@timothylutheran.com.
Winners will be
announced on Wednesday, April 24th,
during Chapel.
(Coffee Order Takes 7-14 days to receive and Bundt Cakes
will be delivered April 29th.)
*SCHOOL of ECONOMICS is Monday! We still need a few more drivers to transport
us there on that Monday morning. We only
need rides there, as the group of parents going in to train that morning can
bring us back to school afterwards. If
you are able to help, here is the link:
(SOE is just down 7 Hwy! Thanks!) https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0C4DADAB2DA7F58-school#/
*Tuesday, April 23rd, is our 6th Annual RAMS RUN! Our cross-country runners will be competing
against other area Lutheran/Christian schools.
Come cheer on our Rams! It is
always a fun time! The first race begins
at 5:00.
*Our class will be taking our last MAP Growth testing from
1:00-2:00 on April 29th, May 1st, and May 3rd. (MWF) I am just giving you these dates, so if
you are making appointments, if you can, please steer away from these
times. Thanks so much!
*FUN DAY is only 4 weeks away! This year it is on Friday,
May 10th. For those of you new to TLS, Fun Day is a day we set aside for the
students to have as much fun as possible on campus but OUTSIDE of the
classroom. To pull off such a large undertaking, we need all hands on deck!

Here is what we have been up to:
4/16-You prepare a table before me
in the presence of
my enemies;
you anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
4/19-Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of
the Lord forever.
LANGUAGE ARTS: We worked more on our final book report projects---our Biography Lap Books. Most students have read their entire biography are taking notes. We will use these in the reports and in our oral reports when we have our Living Museum. We also continued learning about Harry S. Truman this week. We learned about his first job at Clinton’s drugstore, and how he graduated from high school. It has been so informative for our class to hear about President Truman as a child! He had a “normal” life, and was hard-working, Christian young man. We also discussed his first “adult” jobs and his presidency. We will learn more specifics about Truman next week.
positive, believe, presence, wonderful, interesting,
delicious, schedule, temperature, church, request, *excruciating
MATH: We tested over multiplying and dividing fractions, and
now have begun the unit about changing fractions into decimals. We will begin working with money as
well. The majority of our class has
passed their mad minutes! We will celebrate
SOON!!
MO HISTORY: This
week, we shared our posters about resources and tourist attractions here in
Missouri and read more about our famous Missourians. We will begin a new Science chapter on Tuesday.
ART: The honeybee is
Missouri’s state insect, so we learned all about honeybees and began some
beautiful bee and honeycomb pictures.
These too, will be on display in our museum!
MUSIC: We practiced singing some our songs for our upcoming
Spring Musical.
WRITERS’ WORKSHOP: We worked on our Biography Lap books and
MO History projects.
Yours in Christ,
Kim Brunkhorst
