Dear Parents,
Today
was had an emotional day as we bid “goodbye” to our Gabby Williams, and her
family, Greg, Kay, Donovan, and Gracie. They are moving to Phoenix,
Arizona. We had a fun little party in the classroom, had some brownies,
and presented Gabby with a cross and a journal signed by all of us. We
also had cake at lunch and sang “God’s Blessings” to them. We had quite a
few tears and emotions in here. We will miss her so much, but we know
that GOD has a plan for her and her family! He is always with us… and I
know that Gabby will definitely bloom wherever she is planted! We love
you, Williams family!
Thanks
to all of you that participated in Trivia Night. We raised over
$14,000! WOW! A final count will come out soon. THANK
YOU for all that you contributed and did to help that night be such a
success. It was so much fun! Please give the glory to God!
Please
pray for good weather tomorrow! We have our first track meet in Alma,
MO. Our own fourth graders—Sydney, Zachary, and Nolan will be
competing!
Next
Wednesday, Bryce Hirsch, a 1st grader, will be our “Principal
for the Day,” and he has asked that everyone wear black that day!

Weather permitting, we will head out to Burr Oak woods and hike some trails in
the morning, and go to Railroad Park to picnic and play. I will be
sending out a Sign-Up soon for drivers. Thank you!
Enrollment is still underway! If you haven’t resubmitted
your forms, please do so as soon as possible. This will help us make
necessary preparations for next year!
Please mark our Graduation date (5/17) on your calendars. We
would love for all students and families to be able to attend, as each grade
will be involved in the program! We are so proud of all of our
graduates!!!
Here’s what we have been up to:
In Religion
this week, we talked about hymns, and parts of the service, as well as
prayers and psalms. We really dug into the book of Psalms this week, and focused
on the 23rd Psalm. “Even
though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil,
for You are with me.” Psalm 23:4
Memory for next
week:
April 28-Sing to the Lord, all the earth; proclaim His
salvation day after day. 1 Chronicles 16:23
May 1-We will be saved through the grade of the Lord Jesus.
Acts 15:11
Language Arts: We
finished up the story Charlotte’s Web as a whole class. Each child
borrowed their own copy of the book as we dissected the last few
chapters. It was fun, because we had some great weather as well, and were
able to sit outside and read. We had a great time! All of the
children did well on their spelling tests and reading tests today too! We
enjoyed the movie this afternoon. (Thanks, Amelia!)
We’ve been working hard on our biography rugs too. Some
students put on their finishing touches today! I have been urging them to
finish up their biographies! 4th graders have their rugs, as
well as their book report papers, due on Thursday.

Specials
this week:
Art-We

memorized. Please make sure your child brings his or her recorder every

P.E.-This

Writing-We

with their final drafts and have begun publishing. We are learning so
much about new animals! I have set a due date for this on May
