Newsletter 5-1-15

Happy May Day!  J  We cannot believe May is here, and we only have two and a half weeks of school left!  Goodness! Here are some notes about upcoming events:

Cinco de Mayo - Our program is just around the corner!!  THIS coming Monday, May 4, all the hard work will be set to show off!  Full-time students will have one last dress rehearsal next Monday afternoon.  Monday evening, boys will wear blue/black jeans, white short/long sleeved shirt, dress shoes or cowboy boots.  Girls will wear their hair in a bun if possible, white short sleeved blouse with no decals/prints on it, shorts to wear under their dancing skirt, and dress shoes.  When should your child arrive?  Girls will need to arrive by 6:15 (their skirts take more time to get on); boys will need to arrive by 6:30.    If you have any questions, direct them to Mrs. Carrasco at trianac@timothylutheran.com

Our All-School FUN DAY, is Friday, May 15th.  All students, including home-school friends, are invited to come.  We will have fun with all sorts of outdoor and indoor games, eating lunch outside, and fun all around!

Please mark our Graduation date (5/17) on your calendars.  We would love for all students and families to be able to attend, as each grade will be involved in the program!  We are so proud of all of our graduates!!!

We will take our final field trip as a class on Monday, May 18th.  All of our class is invited to come!  Weather permitting, we will head out to Burr Oak woods and hike some trails in the morning, and go to Railroad Park to picnic and play.  A Sign-Up Genius will be coming home today!  Thank you!

Enrollment is still underway!  If you haven’t resubmitted your forms, please do so as soon as possible.  This will help us make necessary preparations for next year!

In Math this week, third graders worked with adding and subtracting fractions.  They will test over these skills next week, and then begin longer multiplication.  Fourth graders worked with long division, and will test over this on Monday.  They will continue the year learning how to divide with two and three-digit divisors.
Almost our entire class has passed their multiplication exam!  They have earned a trip to Winstead’s on May 13th!  This week showed a lot of progression, and I am so proud of them!  I will be sending an email to the parents involved, letting you know of the details.  Thank you!
