Hello! We have had a
great week of school, and have been working so hard!
*The kids did such a great job leading the Advent services
on Wednesday! I was so proud of
them! THANK YOU for helping us out with
transportation and time. It is my prayer
that our message and songs witnessed to an aching heart. God’s Word is so powerful!
*Today is the midway point through our second quarter
already! You can expect mid-quarter
reports to come home with your child on Tuesday of next week.
*I truly believe in the power of fresh air! If temperatures allow, I will be taking the 3rd/4th
graders outside for recess to get out some of that energy during this season! PLEASE send a coat (and hats, gloves, etc.) to
school when the weather is cooler. Our
first recess is at 10:35. Thank
you!
*Thank you for donating money for our Angel Tree
children. As a class, we have already
gotten so much! We began to pick out
gifts today.
*Memory for next week:
December 6-THE SIXTH COMMANDMENT
You shall not commit adultery. What does this mean? We should fear and love God so that we lead a
sexually pure and decent life in what we say and do, and husband and wife love
and honor each other.
December 9-THE SEVENTH COMMANDMENT
You shall not steal.
What does this mean? We should
fear and love God so that we do not take our neighbor’s money or possessions,
or get them in any dishonest way, but help him to improve and protect his
possessions and income.

*Here is what we have been up to:
Religion-We made Creation books this week, and reviewed the
days of Creation. We also worked a lot
on our skit for the Advent service and studying “The Parable of the 10
Bridesmaids.”
Reading/Language Arts—we worked with adjectives and
facts/opinions. The 3rd graders
read a story called, “Jump!”, which is about the childhood of Michael
Jordan. 4th graders read a
story entitled “The Screech Owl That Liked Television.” This is the true story of a family who
adopted a baby screech owl, and then set it free. We had some great discussions about these
things! We learned cursive a, c, i, and j this week.
Math-
3rd- We are continuing to learn multiplication—facts
up to 6. We have been watching
Schoolhouse Rock videos with memorable tunes for the facts. This has been fun, and reminiscent for
me! ;)
Please work with your child by using flash cards at home, or during the
car ride to school.
4th- We are working with elapsed time, and with
multiplying by one and two-digit numbers.
4th grade needs to keep working with their multiplication facts
too.
Art-We made cards for the nursing home we will be visiting
later this month, and for our pen pals.
We also worked on our paper prayer chain that is hanging up in the
room! So beautiful!
Music-We have been working so hard on our music for the
Advent program and the Christmas program, as well as reviewing names of
notes.
P.E-We are learning basketball skills-dribbling, passing,
shooting.
Writing-We are finishing up our persuasive essays. Most students are in the publishing step. These are due December 8th. We will have plenty of class time to work on
these.
