Happy Friday!

Hello, Parents!  It has been another fun week!  It is so hard to believe that today is the end of first quarter!  Where has all of the time gone?!

*Please look at the bottom of this email for sign-ups for upcoming field trips, parent/teacher conferences, and other sign-ups.  Thank you so much!
We have a lot of things coming up next week: Tuesday—helping with the E.C.C. Harvest Hoe Down, Thursday—Parent /Teacher Conferences, Friday—Fall Field Trip and P/T conferences, Saturday-The Auction!  Whew!

*Also, we have something new for you to add to the calendar! We are going to be celebrating our Veterans here at school on Friday, November 10th, beginning at 8:30.  We will have donuts and coffee, and our choirs will be singing.  More details will come home soon, but what we need from you right now is this:  If you know a veteran, please send in his or her name and a picture if you have one!  You can send the picture with your child to school, and we can scan it, or you can email them in.  Thank you for all of your help with this, as we honor our veterans!

Here is what we have been up to:

Religion- We hosted Chapel this week…and did such a great job!  Thanks for coming to see us!  We also have been talking about the people of Israel and their journey to the Promised Land.  Next week, we will learn all about Martin Luther and the Reformation.

*Our service project this month and next is Operation Christmas Child! Please bring in your shoe boxes and other items.  There is a collection box by the office.  Let’s fill it up!  We are all looking forward to our packing party on November 13th!

*Timothy did such a great job raising money for our sister school, Lutheran South Academy, in Houston, TX.   The total we raised was $6,000.01!!!!  Praise the Lord!

Next week’s memory: (Only Tuesday)
October 24-What does this mean?  We should fear and love God so we do not curse, swear, use satanic arts, lie, or deceive by His name, but call upon it in every trouble, pray, praise, and give thanks.

Our project for the auction is complete!  We have been studying the verse Psalm 139:14.  Each child chose a part of his or her body that is special to them...because God has made it!  They then wrote about that part of themselves, and we created this beautiful collage and book.  We are excited to show it off to you!!!
