Dear Parents,
*I am SO proud of our kiddos and how they performed in the musical! It was amazing…and such a witness to the power of our God! LOVE IT!
*Mid-terms and achievement test scores came home on Monday. Please make sure you sign and return the bottom of the mid-term. Thank you!
*Trivia Night is TONIGHT! It’s not too late! Come and play with us! It’s 80’s night! This is a HUGE fundraiser for the school, and tons of fun…J For the dinner menu: The 7th/8th graders are serving pulled pork sandwiches with coleslaw and either chips or beans. There will be nachos, and root beer or strawberry floats, too. They are earning money for their class trip, so it would be nice to support them.
*The 4th-6th Graders will be going to the School of Economics this Tuesday, April 24th. If you have not sent in $15.00, please do so. Students will NOT need to pack a lunch, as this fee includes food for them. We have been working so hard for this trip!
Here is what else we have been up to:
Religion: We discussed the parable of the “Great Banquet Feast,” and how God has prepared a place for each of in his heavenly kingdom—and we are all invited! What a blessing!
Language Arts: We read a true story called “I Could Do That!” about Esther Morris, who was the first woman judge in America, and who helped pass the bill for women’s voting in Wyoming.
Math-We have learned how to turn fractions into decimals. We have been working with tenths and hundredths.
Missouri History-We tested over Chapter 4 today! We will be working on our famous Missourian projects next week. We will need full-size paper bags for the finished product, if any of you have extra ones at home. Thank you!
This week in…
Art-We learned about Claude Monet and made our own beautiful versions of “Water Lilies.”
Computer Lab-We worked on Typing Web and played some computer games.
P.E.-We began working on track and field events---conditioning, long jump, standing broad jump, and sprinting.
Music-We worked on our recorders again this week. Please make sure your child brings his or her recorder every Tuesday.
God's Blessings,
Kim
