Dear Parents,
Thank you for the prayers for my daughter Emma, and her eye
surgery yesterday. Everything went
well! God is good!!! …and on that same note, it is amazing how He
made our eyes. While she is still blind
in that eye, the surgery went well to remove the cataract and scar tissue that
had formed there, and she is already almost healed. It is amazing!
As you have probably heard, we have been busy this week
testing, testing, testing! All of the
students have been working hard, and trying their best. I am so proud of their commitment. We partied a bit this afternoon. ;)
Results will be coming home in April.
Other than that, this week in Religion, we have been
learning all about Jesus preaching in Nazareth, and his miracle of raising
Jairus’ daughter. We also discussed quite a bit about how Jesus traveled all
over Israel spreading the news of God and promoting love and peace. In Science, we have continued to learn
about penguins, their habitat, and how they travel and take care of their
young. We also discussed animal life
cycles. It is my plan to finish up this
unit in Science next week. In Art,
we drew beautiful flowers and filled them in with oil pastels. These projects were based on the work of the
folk artist, Heather Galler. They are
beautiful! Spring has finally sprung!
*Trivia Night is tonight!
Come and support our school, and our 7/8 grade class trip! Doors open at 6:00, and trivia begins at
7:00.
*K-8 will sing at the RD Mize location this Sunday, March 24th! They will sing at the end of the 8:00 service
and during the offering at the 9:30 service. Please meet at 8:40 in the music
room and we will walk into the end of the service together. There will be
donuts and coffee between the services. Students can sit with their families
during the 9:30 service and simply come forward when it is time to sing. Please wear Timmy gear or church clothes.
*Next Wednesday is our school-wide PJ Day! As our winners of the Community Linc fundraiser, Timothy girls have chosen to have an all-school
movie/pajama party that afternoon. If
your child chooses, he or she can wear pajamas to school that day and bring a
pillow and/or blanket to get comfy in the gym, as we enjoy watching Disney’s The
Lion King. He or she can also bring
a snack to enjoy. Please don’t forget to
wear tennis shoes that day for recess!
We will also tie-dye our shirts for the musical that afternoon, so if
you have not already, please send in a plain, white, t-shirt for your
kiddo. Thanks!
Next week:
Memory- March 26--Can we find a friend so faithful
Who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness
Take it to the Lord in prayer.
March 29--Are we weak and heavy laden,
Cumbered with a load of care?
Precious Savior, still our refuge
Take it to the Lord in prayer.
