Our Favorite Memories...

Hi, Parents!  It has been a great week, and we have been busy in 4th grade!

Important News
*K-8 sings Sunday at the 10:30 am worship service at the Wyatt Road (School) Campus.  Students should meet in the music room at 10:10 am.  Please wear Timothy gear or school colors (navy/red) or Sunday clothes.

*We will be having a dress rehearsal for our musical next Tuesday!  Please send your child’s tie-dye shirt and sandals to school for him or her to change into.  Thank you!

*The spring musical is next Friday, April 12! The band will perform at 6:30,  followed by the pre-school classes and then the musical – Go, Go Jonah!

*Our 4th quarter mission project was rolled out in chapel this week!  For the next two weeks, we are going to have a “Flash Flood of Giving”. We are going to collect cleaning supplies for those affected by the flooding in Nebraska and Iowa. For every 70 items collected, one teacher will join in the squirt gun battle on Fun Day (May 10). If we collect 500 items – Mr. Holland will join in the soaking! (Yay!  I am excited!)

Here are things you can donate:
Paper towels
Work gloves
Sponges
Laundry detergent
Dryer Sheets
Bleach
Laundry Baskets
Buckets
Vinegar/Ammonia
Garbage bags (this is a BIG need!)
Dish Soap
Etc.
THANK YOU!

Here is what we have been up to:
Religion- This week, we learned about two more of Jesus miracles—The Feeding of the 5,000, and Jesus Walking on Water.  Our God is an AMAZING God!
Memory for next week: (We are studying the 23rd Psalm)
April 9-
He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.

April 12-
You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies;
you anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.

Reading-This week, we read the story Ecology for Kids, where we learned about ways we can help protect our planet.  It was so very informative!  Next week, we will begin a chapter book about Harry S. Truman and will continue this for the next few weeks.  We are excited to learn as much as we can about this famous Missourian!

Spelling words for next Friday, April 12th-(from “Childhood of Famous Americans:  Harry S. Truman: The Thirty-Third President of the United States”)
favorite, advantage, important, decide, laugh, beauty, minute, awaken, whisper, national, *Missouri

Math- This week, we worked with numeric patterns and sequencing.  We have been busy taking mad minutes too!  We will be taking our “Multiplication Masterpiece Test” for the next several weeks too—this is 100 problems, and 4 minutes to complete it!  I know they can!

Science-We did not get quite as far in Science this week as I had hoped.  We reviewed our unit about The Animal Kingdom.  We will play Jeopardy on Monday and test on Wednesday.  Study guides are came home yesterday.  Here is the link to Jeopardy so your child can practice at home too:

Missouri History-We did not get as far in history this week as I had hoped either!  We have been discussing famous Missourians, and next week, your child will be assigned one to study, along with his or her biography to read.  This will come with instructions for our last book report project.  These will be due May 13th, so there will be plenty of time!

Art- This week, We finished up our favorite memory paintings.  They are hanging in the hallway for all to enjoy!

Writing-We wrote about our favorite memories too!

P.E.-This week, we continued our physical fitness activities!

Music-We practiced the spring musical in the gym with the entire school several times this week.  We have been practicing like crazy and are just about ready!
