*At chapel yesterday, we announced our next mission
project! Read the following for more
information.
Second Quarter Mission Project--Operation Christmas Child--Collection
ends Friday, November 15
Shoeboxes filled with school supplies, hygiene items, toys,
and Gospel materials will share the Good News of God’s love and the TRUE
MEANING of Christmas with children all around the world. A sack is coming home today! Please fill up a
sack to help us with our efforts! Money
donations are also wonderful, as shipping adds up to $9 per box. Would you prayerfully consider adding a few
items to your shopping lists over the next few weeks? Any and all donations go a LONG way to fill
up as many boxes as we can. You can
place your items in the designated box at the school.
Shoeboxes will be packed for BOYS and GIRLS in three
different age groups:
2-4 years old
5-9 years old 10-14
years old
*Our packing party will be Wednesday, November 20 (parent
help is always appreciated!).
Here is what else we have been up to this week:
Religion-
This week, we worked on our Chapel program, remembering how
AWESOME our God is! The kiddos did a
fantastic job! In class, we learned about
Gideon, and how God called him to help His people! God also calls on us in the same way!

11/15-THE THIRD COMMANDMENT
Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy.
Language Arts- 3rd graders read the Mexican
folktale of Harvest Birds. 4th
grade read the historical fiction story about the San Francisco earthquake
called The Earth Dragon Awakens. We
had some great conversations! We also talked about verb tenses.
Spelling Words for Friday, November 15th:
3rd-from the reading selection, “Kamishibai Man”-clown,
round, bow, cloud, power, crown, thousand, crowd, sound, count, powder, blouse,
frown, pound, mountain, coward, *calamity
4th-from the reading selection, “Me and Uncle Romie”-aloud,
bald, hawk, south, faucet, proud, claw, tower, stalk, couple, howl, false,
dawn, allow, drown, pause, fault, cause, amount, cloudier, applaud, foul, *calamity
Math- This week, third graders worked with regrouping
and long addition. They have been
working so hard! They tested over this
material today. Fourth graders worked multiplication
properties and division rules. They learned
factors and multiples and began solving 3-part word problems. They also tested over this material today! Next week, we will begin the fourth chapters
in our math series.
SPECIAL CLASSES
Art- We drew and painted zentangle pumpkins! They will be filling the hallway soon!
Writing-We are continuing publishing our personal
narratives, and have begun to write our fractured fairytales.
Music- We have been practicing our patriotic songs,
and practicing for the Veteran’s Day Program on the 11th.
P.E.- We jumped rope again his week—working up our
jumping stamina and learning some jumping rhymes.
