Hello! We have had
another beautiful week!
This week, our hearts are heavy, as we say “goodbye,” and
also “see you later,” to our friend Noah.
He will be attending a new school beginning next week. His last day will be Monday…and we will
celebrate him! Please pray for our
friend, as we know he will bloom where he is planted, and that God is with him
wherever he goes! We love you Noah! You always have a home here… :)
Joshua 1:9 -- Be
strong and courageous; do not be frightened or dismayed, for the Lord your God
is with you wherever you go.
The kiddos warmed my heart today, too, as they finished our classroom puzzle, and wanted Noah to place the last piece. It was so beautiful and thoughtful! :)
We celebrated our Veterans this week with a beautiful
program on Monday! Thank you to all of
you that were able to attend… and THANK
YOU to all of our veterans. We are the
home of the free because of the brave!
You are treasured and you are LOVED.

Here is what we have been up to in the classroom:
Religion- This week, we learned about the life of
Samson. God used him to help him free
His people, yet Samson was a sinner, who was brought to the point of despair,
and repented. We talked about times that
we have repented as well, and how the light of the cross shows us our sin. We discussed what true repentance looks
like! Praise God that He is a loving and
forgiving Father!
Next week’s Memory:
1/15-THE THIRD COMMANDMENT
Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy.
11/19-What does this mean?
We should fear and love God so that we do not despise preaching and His
Word, but hold it sacred and gladly hear and learn it.
Language Arts- 3rd graders read the story entitled,
“Kamishbai Man,” which taught the students about this old Japanese way of
storytelling. We loved the history in
this story! 4th graders read about the
collage artist Romare Bearden in the story, “Me and Uncle Rome.” We learned all about Harlem and collage
painting. This week we discussed
sentence structure and how to correctly construct a paragraph, using the
“hamburger method.” We are getting to be
pretty great writers in here! Next week,
we will read two whole-class stories about the first Thanksgiving entitled “On
the Mayflower” and “The Long Voyage.”
Our spelling and vocabulary words will come from these selections.
Spelling Words for Friday, November 22nd:
(whole class)
Plymouth, Thanksgiving, Pilgrims, compact, Mayflower,
pumpkin, barter, America, holiday, settlement, Challenge Word: *Wampanoag
Math- This week, third graders worked with
multiplication! They learned how to make
arrays and discussed the mutilation properties.
They worked with fact families too.
Fourth graders worked with multiplying with zeroes and solving
multiplication word problems where estimations was needed. Please keep practicing those math facts at
home! Thank you!
Science-This week, we discussed cells! We are excited to look at plant cells under a
microscope next week, and learn exactly how plants work!
SPECIAL CLASSES
Art- We drew and painted zentangle pumpkins…They are
now hanging in the hallway outside of our room.
We also discussed our state bird, the eastern bluebird, and studied
pictures of them. We then used pencil,
oil pastel, tempera paint, and water colors to make Eastern Bluebird Winter
Pictures. We will complete these next
week.
Writing-We are continuing publishing our personal
narratives, and are writing our fractured fairytales.
Music- We performed in our Veteran’s Day Program on
