February 2, 2021
Dear TLS Families,
I want to inform you that I tested positive for COVID-19 on
Saturday, January 30. I believe I am on
the mend and gradually am feeling better.
After consultation with the Jackson County Health
Department, I am recommending isolating for the teachers. The students were not
in contact with me for an extended period, however, their teachers were. Due to
the lack of substitutes to cover classes, we cannot continue face-to-face
instruction through February 12. The
teachers will contact their families and let them know the details for sustained
learning. It is important to note that we
have not had an outbreak, but are taking the responsible measures to ensure
that we do not unintentionally contaminate anyone else.
Once we return, you can help by continuing to monitor your
child’s health daily. Please do not send them to school sick. Students must remain at home if they have a
cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fever over 100 degrees,
body aches, fatigue, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat,
congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting or diarrhea.
If your child will be absent from school for any reason,
please call and let us know. If your
student is ill and exhibiting any symptoms above, please let the school know as
soon as possible.
We will continue the practice of frequent handwashing,
applying hand sanitizer and treating each room three times a day.
We all play a critical role in stopping the spread of
COVID-19. Thank you for partnership as
we work to keep our students and staff healthy.
We WILL have school
on Monday, February 15. Parent/Teacher Conferences will be re-scheduled. We
will let you know when as we work out those details.
Yours in Christ,
Principal
Timothy Lutheran School
