child’s backpack. Thank you!
NEXT FRIDAY is our school's Fun Day! Students should wear athletic clothes and
good running shoes as they'll be very active all day! You're welcome to send in some sunscreen for
your child, too, as they'll be both inside and outside throughout the day. Water bottles will also be really helpful, so
make SURE your child has theirs from home next Friday. Are you free and able to help? Check out the sing up: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/5080A4EA4AB22A57-whowants or email our coordinator, Tyler Hutton:

librarian, Mrs. Haussmann!
*YEARBOOKS ARE ON SALE!
Order now at inter-state.com/flyerentry/56423NK. The deadline to order is 05/28/2021. Yearbooks will either be mailed to you or
hand delivered at the start of next school year. Paper reminders are coming home today.
*We have done a FANTASTIC job on our 4th quarter mission
project, Lead a Child. Money was
collected through today. As of now, our
class has raised $545.95, which has WAY surpassed our classroom goal of $240.00
to send a child to school! Nice job,
3rd/4th grades! We will find out which
class won the competition and gets to soak their teacher, SOON!
Here is what we have learned this week:
Religion- This week, we have read the book of Acts
and learned about what Jesus’ apostles did after He ascended into heaven. We have related this to what our vocations
can be in the future and how we can serve God in any task that we do. We
finished up our Religion books today, but will continue to learn about the Acts
of the disciples in Religion class.
Books are coming home!
Memory for next week:
(Just ONE more!---A review of our verse of the year.)
5/7-“The Son of Man came not to be served, but to serve, and
to give His life as a ransom for many.”
~Matthew 20:28
Language Arts-This week, third graders read the fun
story by Dav Pilkey entitled, Dogzilla.
Fourth graders read the track related story entitled, Moon Runner. We discussed possessive nouns and practiced
with apostrophes. We finished the book
of Holes, and will watch the movie soon for an end-of-the-year party! We learned cursive letters D, L, and G. There will not be spelling words for next
week. For Language Arts, we are going to
be working individual stories, our biography projects, and animal research
projects. We will be finishing up book
reports next week, just in time to share them on May 10th.
Math-Both grades are working with fractions! Third grade has learned how to write
fractions in word and number form. They
have also solved some fractions related word problems. Fourth graders are learning how to make
equivalent fractions, put them in simplest form, solve word problems, and work
with mixed numbers. We will continue in
our math books the remainder of the school year. We will have our multiplication final contest
the last week of school, so please keep practicing those facts!
Social Studies-This week, worked on our famous people
“rugs,” and will share our knowledge next week.
We have loved learning from these biographies. We will continue with Science next week too!
Specials-
Art-We have begun to create Night Gardens, studying flowers, and using black paper and oil
pastels.
Writing-We have written our final drafts of our animal
research reports.
Computer Lab-We published our written work.
P.E.-This week, we practiced relays outside and did
track conditioning.
