Have a beautiful weekend!

Hi, all!  I hope you have had a GREAT week!  We are truckin’ along in 4th grade!

 Reminders:

*It is EARLY ENROLLMENT for students at TLS!  If you enroll your kiddo this month, you get $100 off of the $200 enrollment fee, and secure a spot for your child.  I know many classes have waiting lists, so please secure spots now!  Open enrollment for new families begins March 1st.  :)

*MARCH 8th  is going to be a busy day!   We are going to start the day at 7:45 with Morning with Mom (or Special Person!) Then, our students will sing at the Lenten service at RD Mize at 5:30 pm.  Please wear Timmy gear (or red, white, and navy) and sit with their families.  PLUS, we are serving the Lenten dinner from 5 – 7 that night.  😊  Stay tuned for more details.

*Please make sure your child is keeping up with his or her assignments!  For the most part, I keep up with entering grades into Sycamore, so you are able to see missing assignments and grades there!  Thank you for help with this matter!

Here is what we have been up to this week:

RELIGION- This week, we learned more about Jesus’ miracles.  We discussed how He healed the official’s son, how He healed the 10 lepers, how He the paralytic man, and how He healed the blind man.  We are in awe at God’s GREAT power and wisdom!  We truly know that He has a plan for everything, and we need to turn our anxiety over to Him!

 MEMORY work for next week:

2/28-Be faithful unto death, and I will give you the crown of life. Revelation 2:10b

3/3-Be still, and know that I am God.  I will be exalted among the nations.  I will be exalted in the earth! ~Psalm 46: 10

LANGUAGE ARTS- This week, we continued with Chapters 3-6 “Ramona and Her Father,” by Beverly Cleary.  We have discussed character development, story sequencing, and predicting what will happen next.

SPELLING WORDS for Friday, March 3rd: scarcely, enough, laughed, ferocious, idea, million, worried, happier, evening, pajamas, *crestfallen

MATH-This week we began Chapter 8!  We have learned what prime and composite numbers are, how to tell factors and multiples of a number, and how to find equivalent fractions.  We will work with putting fractions in simplest form and comparing and ordering fractions next week.  We will also finish our 100th made minute!  These kiddos are doing GREAT!

SOCIAL STUDIES- In Missouri History, we talked about the state seal, the state flag, Missouri’s nickname, and how to divide the earth into hemispheres.  We also discussed what artifacts and history is!  In our textbooks, we read about Missouri’s natural resources and amount of precipitation.

SPECIAL CLASSES:

MUSIC-We practiced our song, “Beautiful Savior,” and a song with the words of “The Lord’s Prayer.”

ART- This week, we began sports pictures.  We painted our crowds with people with different skin tones, and will add the athletes next week.  These are cool!

COMPUTER- We worked on a slideshow called, “Friendship,” where we talked about how to be a good friend and ways to share our empathy and love with others in a meaningful way.

WRITERS’ WORKSHOP-We learned about the correct way to write paragraphs this week, by doing it the “Hamburger Way!”  We practiced writing paragraphs about our favorite types of food and favorite sports teams.

P.E.-We played a fun game called, "Striker Ball!"  This was an exciting game where we had to defend our own goals.  There were lots of shrieks and laughs in the gym on Tuesday!
