Snow, Snow, Go Away! ;)

Hello, Parents!  I was SO HAPPY to see your kiddos this morning!  Man!  What a week… I am thankful to be back, and thankful that warmer weather is on the horizon!

This will be just a short update on things coming up:

*The annual AUCTION, “Aloha Nights,” to support our scholarship fund, is TOMORROW!

What time?  6:00-10:00

Where?  The Farmhouse KC

17221 E 32nd St S, Independence, MO 64055

*It is not too late to purchase tickets for this event!  Please just go to the home page of our website, www.timothylutheranschool.com, and click on the Aloha Nights graphic. You can also buy them at the door.  There will not be seating preferences available at this later time, though.

*MORNINGS WITH MOM is next Wednesday, February 26th from 7:45-8:25.  Please join us for some donuts, coffee, milk, and a fun game or two!  Then, please stay for Chapel if you can.  (8:45-9:15.)

*SCHOOL OF ECONOMICS- (4th-6th grades) We are headed to the School of Economics on Monday, March 24th, and we are SO excited for this trip!  We will start preparing in the classroom next week!  We will be meeting with the 5th and 6th graders twice a week, (Mondays and Wednesdays), and learning skills such as making a budget, buying supplies, understanding supply/demand, writing checks, selling goods, working cooperatively, HAVING A TON OF FUN, and much more!  It takes a lot of work in class to make this special day flow, and we are getting ready!

We will need some of you to help that day!  We will need between 12-21 parent volunteers for this trip. Parent help is needed ALL DAY, but space is limited, so slots will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis. THANK YOU for all of you that have signed up.  We still have a few spots left.  These parents will have training at the School of Economics at 8:45, the day of our visit.  We will meet them there, which also means we need some parents that will only be able to drive us there and drop us off.  We will need to leave school no later than 9:10.

A paper copy permission slip is coming home today that all students have to have in order to attend.

 Other important information:

-There is not a cost for you, as you paid for this field trip in your enrichment fees this fall.

-Students will NOT need to pack a lunch, as they will be making their own lunches that day.  **If your child has food allergies and would rather bring in their own food out of safety concerns, that is preferred - please speak with your child's teacher.   (Volunteers will be given School of Economics money that day to buy lunch too!)

-Our day ends there at 1:30, so we should return to school about 2:00.

-If you want to help, but all the spots are taken, please contact your child's teacher, and we'll put you on a "will-call" list in the case that another parent has to back out. Thank you in advance for your help!!  Please let me know if you have any questions.

 Date: 3/24/25  (Monday)

Time: 9:00am - 1:30pm

Location: School of Economics, 200 NW 14 St, Blue Springs, MO 64015

Here is what we have been up to this week:

RELIGION: Today we talked about Jesus healing the sick boy, and we discussed our faith, and how having belief and knowing that God answers prayer, and can do ANYTHING, is what faith is.  Even if our faith is that of a mustard seed, it is faith!  Thanks be to God!

 MEMORY: (updated)

2/25-For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. ~John 3:16

2/28- In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. ~John 1:1

SPELLING WORDS for Friday, February 28th from the story, “The Screech Owl Who Loved Television:”

somebody, fireplace, nearby, toothbrush, homesick, make-believe, anything, all right, goodbye, forehead, classmate, flashlight, haircut, twenty-two, driveway, alarm clock, baby-sit, airport, forever, mailbox, field trip, absent-minded, *rambunctious

MATH: We began Unit 9 today, where we learned how to decompose fractions.

SCIENCE:  We finally reviewed our Science Chapter this week!  Woohoo!  We reviewed in class today, and will test next Friday.  I have attached a copy of the review (which will be due on Wednesday.)  We will grade this in class to get ready for the test and for Jeopardy.  Here is the Science Jeopardy link we will play next week to get ready!  😉
