 Hi, parents!  It has been such a fun week!  We had a wonderful time at the School of Economics, and we are so thankful for our parent volunteers.  THANK YOU for being so amazing!  We learned A LOT, and had some fun doing so!

 Here is what we have been up to this week:

RELIGION: We discussed the story of Jesus riding in to Jerusalem.  Thank God that He showed His love for us by giving us a king, the Messiah, who saves us.  We discussed the lyrics of “I Know That My Redeemer Loves.”  These are so powerful and these words of praise connect Christians across all time and I all places through worship.

 MEMORY: 4/1-He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,

  I will fear no evil, for you are with me;

your rod and your staff,  they comfort me.

 4/4-You prepare a table before me

in the presence of my enemies;

you anoint my head with oil;

  my cup overflows.

 LANGUAGE ARTS: This week, we read the biography, “Harvesting Hope,” which is about Cesar Chavez and his quest to find equal rights form migrant farm workers.  We had wonderful discussions about peaceful protests, U.S. citizenship, and God creating us all equal.  We worked on these skills:  conclusions and generalizations, finding solutions, using suffixes, and idioms.  We learned about our new Author of the Month, Louis Sachar, and began the book “Holes” this week.

 SPELLING WORDS for next Friday, April 4th:  (from the book Harry S. Truman: Thirty-Third President of the United States)

unfortunately, breakfast, handkerchief, cautiously, prayer, caress, doctor, notice, anxious, pamper, Challenge Word: Missouri

 MATH: We learned how to take an improper fraction and turn it into a mixed number and how to multiply fractions.
