May God bless your weekend! :)

Hi, parents!  It has been another great week!  (We almost had a full one!)  ;)

 Reminders:

*4th grade hosts CHAPEL next week!  Please join us, if you can!

Date: Wednesday, 3/12/25

Time:  8:45-9:15

*We will have SNOW MAKE-UP days on April 17th and 21st.  If you already have traveled planned, please just let the office know.  Thank you!

*SCHOOL OF ECONOMICS- (4th-6th grades) We are headed to the School of Economics on Monday, March 24th.  We have been working hard at school!

We will need some of you to help that day!  We mostly need drivers to drive us there and just drop us off.  Right now, we only have one parent that has volunteered to do this.  We will leave school about 9:10.  Thank you!  Here is the link:  https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0C4DADAB2DA7F58-school

Please remember to not sign-up your kiddo for hot lunch at Timothy that day!  They will be eating at the School of Economics.  (They will be “buying” their lunch with money earned that day.)

A paper copy permission slip has come home.  Please sign and return this. Thanks!

Date: 3/24/25  (Monday)

Time: 9:00am - 1:30pm

Location: School of Economics, 200 NW 14 St, Blue Springs, MO 64015

Here is what we have been up to this week:

RELIGION: We learned the parables of “The Pharisee and the Tax Collector” as well as “The Banquet and the Wedding Feast.”  We discussed how through His Word, God seeks all those who are lost.  He calls us to Himself and promises to prepare a heavenly home for all who believe in Him.  We are encouraged to call on Him with humility and grace.  We know that our forgiveness and salvation are based solely on what Christ Jesus has done for us!  AMEN!

 MEMORY:

3/11-I am Jesus Little Lamb

I am Jesus' little lamb,

Ever glad at heart I am;

For my Shepherd gently guides me,

Knows my need and well provides me,

Loves me ev'ry day the same,

Even calls me by my name.

3/14-Day by day, at home, away,

Jesus is my staff and stay.

When I hunger, Jesus feeds me,

Into pleasant pastures leads me;

When I thirst, He bids me go

Where the quiet waters flow.

LANGUAGE ARTS: We read the story,  “A Very Important Day,” which correlated directly to our School of Economics unit.  We discussed the many families in the story, what countries they came from, and more details about them.  We worked with possessive and apostrophes this week, as well as cause and effect, and chronological order. We learned about Ellis Island and citizenship!

SPELLING WORDS for next Friday, March 14th: (from Sacajawea)

million, collect, lumber, pepper, plastic, borrow, support, thirty, perfect, attend, canyon, traffic, fortune, danger, soccer, engine, picture, survive, seldom, effort, *interpreter

MATH: This week, we have been learning how to interpret mixed numbers, and how to make them into improper fractions to solve, and then place them back into mixed numbers.  This is a tough skill, but we are getting the hang of it!

SCIENCE:  Graded Science tests are coming home today.

MO HISTORY: We discussed the MO State flag and its symbols and then created classroom seals and a classroom flag too!  We voted on these and Lydia will create our classroom one to hang in our room!  Congrats, Lydia!  Today we discussed what artifacts are, and what things from today might be artifacts 50 years from now!  :)

 SPECIALS:

Art- This week, we learned all about Roy G. Biv!  We all listened to the same story and then created pictures of Roy, learning all of the colors of the rainbow!

Music-We practiced our two songs we will be singing for worship on Sunday, March 30th. (“Make Me a Servant” and “Gethsemane”)  We also worked on songs for the Spring Musical.

Computer-We worked on typing skills, Google Docs skills, and spent some time learning about Roald Dahl, our Author of the Month.  :)

P.E.- We are working on jump-roping skills.  This is a hard skill for some, so if they get the opportunity, please have them practice—It is great exercise too!

Writers’ Workshop- We had three writing assignments about "The Very Important Day."  We went through the writing process and will publish these next week.

God's Blessings,

Kim
